We're Far From the Shallows Now [Open]

A new face was emerging from the nursery, stepping out of its boundaries for the first time. And of course, Bumblekit had to be the first to explore the new world away from his mother's side. He was so much like his siblings, he even got called Honeykit more times than he could count. It was high time that he added to his name things his siblings could never claim.

Now he just needed to find where to start.

The camp appeared to be rather busy, so that was a good thing. He had himself an audience. He just needed to make himself known.

And then he saw it. He had seen it a few times before, as he watched meetings from inside the nursery. He had seen his own mother on it, even. Now, the willow branch stood empty, perfectly outlined against the rising sun. It was almost as if it was calling him. This was a beckoning he would be a fool to refuse.

Like clockwork, Bumblekit made his way over to the meeting place, cringing at every tail he stepped on of the bystanding cats. But he didn't have time to linger to apologize. He was on a mission.

Reaching the base, he dug his claws into the trunk in an attempt to make his way up. Although, he only got a tail length from the ground before he found himself in a bit of a predicament. The branch was.....a lot higher than he thought. Maybe this was a bad idea. But he also found himself unable to look down. How high up was he? What if he fell? Oh, the tom had really done it this time. What a way to make a name for himself.

"Help! Get me down from here!"

Spiderkit noticed his sibling making a very good escape from the nursery, actually, Spiderkit was very impressed! Though he didn't go after him as Bumblekit was annoying even in the nursery, it was only funny when he messes with his brother. Though it didn't take long for the kit to jolt up when he hear the call of his brother, seeing that Bumblekit got stuck on a tree the kit quickly ran over, no matter what the other warrior said. He just kept on running. "Bumblekit!!" The kit mewed, but only stop a short distance from the tree as he looked up.

"PFHAHAHA YOU GOT YOURSELF STUCK ON A TREE!" The kit burst out laughing, he was by no means intended on helping.

Of course Spiderkit had to show up. Why, of all cats, did it have to be him.

"I'm not stuck! I'm just, er, playing a game! You're just jealous because I am playing without you!"

He lashed his tail, still unwilling to look down. Maybe that was a good thing, though. Spiderkit couldn't see the pure fear written on his face. "Now quit laughing and go get ma and pa so they can play hero and I can claw your ears off, you stupid fur-ball!"

And that was a promise Bumblekit intended to keep. Spiderkit was so done for after he got down. If he did get down.

"What- Ma and Pa is on this??" Spiderkit looked shocked. "I want to play! I want to be the hero!" But that quickly dissolved as he too, jumped onto the tree, slowly clawing his way up rather clumsily and pawing at Bumblekit's hineleg. Great, now TWO kits are clinging to this tree.

"Come down Bumblekit!" He mewed, "Start by unsheathing all your claws..." The kit really didn't think through his plan, he simply imagined if his brother did, he will land back on his feet all safe and sound and well, I suppose technically, they would be off the tree. Spiderkit was also not aware of the predicament he put HIMSELF into...

As Swanmist returned to camp, a mouse in her jaws, her big ears caught the noise of squealing above. She blinked twice, her attention soon turning to the Willow Branch. Kits. She dropped the mouse in the fresh kill pile, staring up at the two one was clinging to the side of the tree, the other was fearfully looking down from the branch. She was.. confused to say the least.

She would've yelled, if she was a talkative cat. Instead, she did what any mute, smaller than average, mousebrained warrior would do.

Climb up with them.

She scaled the tree, her small legs scrambling up the wood. It wasn't long before her tail stopped touching the ground. She looked down, she wasn't so far and the kits were right above her... Swanmist thought she could get them down.

She leaped from her position onto the branch and felt it wabble. Uh oh. At least she hadn't been eating so she was lighter, right? She carefully pushed Bumblekit towards where Spiderkit was clinging on. Each step she felt uncertain, she had never been that high before, she hadn't even jumped onto things much before.

Then, she made the mistake of looking down, and froze.

Now a fully grown warrior that happened to be small and mute was stuck up a tree where the leader and deputy were supposed to hold meetings. She pulled her tail underneath her legs and flicked back her ears. Claws outstretched to hang onto the bark.

Why did she think this was a good idea?

Whisper'kit was walking along when, in her periphery, were two kits stuck in a tree. "Ugh...How did you even get up there?" she almost wanted to continue her peaceful day, but knew that people would get mad if she just walked by without doing jack. "When I tell you to jump, jump. Land on me. it should break your fall." she said, not fully aware of the pain this could cause because she was so bored. She curled up and bracing herself, said: "3..2..1..Jump!"
