Climb High [open]

Despite Hollypaw's backpedaling warnings, his imagination had already started churning. And Whisperkit, she sounded awfully reasonable when she spoke up loud enough for him to hear, but Aspenkit stole his full attention. He sprang upright onto his paws, tail lashing as the ginger kit went shooting out through the camp wall beyond, into a territory that only existed in apprentice's stories to him so far. Drats on consequences.

He'd be shamed as a future RiverClan if he watched Aspenkit venture outside and didn't have a taste himself. "Sure, Whisperkit. But just one look outside first! You can make a story about us." Sleepykit poised to jump, ready to repeat his denmate's stunt.

Hollypaw stood tall, though the whole thing happened in just a blink of an eye. The ginger kit darted behind her, and she was determined to stop him from heading out any further— until he actually have passed her. Somehow. Her eyes widened, and she felt as if her life just flashed through her eyes. She leapt over Aspenkit, blocking his entrance to set any paws out more. Though thankfully, he didn't try to. The tom-kit rushed back in, and a sigh of relief exited out from her muzzle. Thank the Stars! Yet as soon as Aspenkit spoke up again, the molly gritted her teeth, furious. If he hadn't returned back right away, oh— she'd be in trouble. Big trouble. Her body tensed, and her fur rose up to the very end. Her tail lowered until it was just inches above the ground, and she lashed it. The apprentice took a step forward, looking down at the kit. Anger practically blazed through her eyes as she did.

Despite the hostility that spreaded to every inch of her body, she forced herself to calm down with much gathered effort. Kits were always like that, and she'd get into even further trouble if she acidentally harmed one when angered. Besides, she felt as if her glare was enough for them already. "That's because you only took a few steps out, Aspenkit. If you have taken any more further steps— predators would've made mousemeat out of you!" She exclaimed. Instead of anger like before, adrenaline now rushed through her. Her gaze filled with anxiety, and she sat down, looking over to Sleepykit and Whisperkit. She sighed, shaking her head at Sleepykit's statement.

Didn't the tom-kit's prefix meant he was supposed to be sleepy? Not so.. energetic?

"Not so fast, Sleepykit. I'll take your by your scruff and set you back in the nursery if I really had to." She spoke sternly, eyeing the other tom-kit. "And I assume you're also right, Whisperkit. That'd be nice if you have something interesting for them to hear." She smiled. If Whisperkit had a plan, she'd be more than willing to hear it.

The embarrassment dissipated as quick as it appeared as Hollypaw's chastise was just to... incite more fear? Whatever, he thought, scowling. There was no danger out there. Aspenkit was beyond confident in his train of thought, blissfully ignorant of any dangers that would happily snatch up a kit; foxes that were practically married to shadows, dogs that strayed from their owners, feral rogues that bore the scars of fights they sought out. Grateful no warriors had viewed his moment of stupidity, he watched as Sleepykit looked about ready to repeat his little mishap, and the ginger kit silently hoped he would make it-- they had to understand, the outside world wasn't really as terrifying as the apprentice made it out to be. He did want to apologise, but bit his tongue, too stubborn to admit he had done anything wrong.

As the adrenaline wore off, his thin ginger coat caught up to him, and he shivered, suddenly liking the sound of Whisperkit's idea. "I.. think we should listen to her," Aspenkit was almost indignant once more, hating the idea of agreeing to do something more chill, but stars, the air was suddenly so cold it hurt the tips of his ears, and he wanted nothing more than to be in the warmth of his nest. Sorry Sleepykit, maybe next time, the kit thought to himself, slightly guilty he got the rush of exploration and the other didn't.

"I don't know any stories...It was a suggestion I thought we would go to the Elders for." she admitted.
