Dappledkit's Apprentice Ceremony

The kit that had been found and brought to camp not long before was nearly six moons, and so after some discussion with Flintstar they had agreed to apprentice the young cat. Murkystrike climbed atop Jaggedrock, lifting her maw as she called out to the clan, her voice echoing over the camp. "ShadowClan! Gather in the shadow of Jaggedrock."

Dappledkit lay in the warm moss of the nursery, awoken by Murkystrike's call. She let out a small yawn and stretched. She gave her fur a quick grooming before padding out into the clearing with the other cats. Dappledkit sat down not too far from the entrance of the nursery and waited for the meeting to continue. She had learned a lot about clan life so far and was excited to become an apprentice, albeit a little nervous. Well, she didn't know if this would be her ceremony, but was excited nonetheless.

Dappledkit emerged from the nursery, and Murkystrike smiled to herself. She had the perfect mentor in mind for the young cat, one who's origins were very similar to her own. Taking a deep breath, she called the ceremony to order. "ShadowClan! I've gathered you here today to witness the naming of one of our kits to an apprentice. Dappledkit, please step forward." She paused, waiting to see what Dappledkit did, allowing her to settle before continuing. "Dappledkit, you are now six moons of age and are ready to become an apprentice. From this day on, until you earn your warrior name, you will be known as Dappledpaw. Hopegiver will be your mentor. I trust that she will train you with a steady and understanding paw, and guide you in the ways of a warrior." As the ceremony drew to a close, the deputy leaped down from Jaggedrock to join the clan in celebration.

Dappledkit listened as the ceremony began and Murkystrike called her forward. She padded towards Jaggedrock and looked up at the deputy. She shifted her paws around as Murkystrike continued her ceremony. Dappledkit, now Dappledpaw, listened to her Clanmates cheers. She was excited to be apprentice now, and tried to find her mentor in the crowd.
