The day was quiet... almost a bit too quiet as Cloudpaw padded through the territory. She knew how dangerous the threat of dogs and twolegs were, but it was something that didn't scare her. It wasn't as if she had never encountered a predator before, and it certainly wasn't as if she had never fought before. Therefore, as she took pawstep after pawstep, the thought of the dogs remained at the back of her mind. She hated when it was silent. She functioned better in a noisy atmosphere. In fact, she was typically the main cat that made the atmosphere noisy in the first place, but that wasn't the point. No matter how uncomfortable she felt, the she-cat knew that it would be inappropriate for her to return home with no prey in her jaws. RiverClan was struggling enough with food as it was, and every single able-bodied cat needed to do their part.

She kept her eyes opened and her ears perked as she attempted to scout out any prey that hid within the foliage. Many RiverClan cats excelled in catching fish, but that was only one of Cloudpaw's weaknesses. She had grown up learning how to catch land prey, so the river being cut off wasn't a problem for her.

All the while, the calico was vaguely unaware of the inevitable doom that was headed her way.

Bearspirit had obsessively followed silently after the dogs and twolegs, determined to get the four-legged Dark Forest spawn out of Riverclan territory. He'd kill as many as he had to, even at the cost of his life. Wasn't that what he promised to his clan? Bearspirit never made a promise lightly. Not ever. The marbled tom was beginning to grow into his tall body, his legs thickening to that of Bloodstrike's. His shoulders had become hard knots and even his body rippled with power. The prey on the moor had kept his body fueled, but his continuous battle with dogs had made him a power house.

He'd stayed hidden in bushes for hours, waiting for a dog to run off on it's own. Once one had, Bearspirit raced across the land after it. This dog in particular seemed to be in a hurry... it wasn't just traveling, it was pursuing. But what? Hadn't the humans already killed most of the prey here? It was then that Bearspirit followed the dog's gaze... right onto an unsuspecting calico she-cat.

"Cloudpaw??? CLOUDPAW GET OUT OF HERE!" He bellowed, not caring if he gave away his position to the dog. If it would get the monster to stop, then good. Bearspirit would still fight the wretched thing. He only hoped that Cloudpaw would dodge that incoming jaws...

Cloudpaw felt a shiver go down her spine as she turned around to face Bearspirit. The tom's panicked tone instantly made the she-cat pay attention to her surroundings, but it was too late for her to escape. The scent crashed over her almost immediately, and it caused Cloudpaw to freeze in terror. When the apprentice whipped around, she was face-to-face with a tall brown dog. It's tongue lolled out of its mouth as it charged toward her with a glitter in its black eyes.

At first, she was unsheathing her claws to face it head on. Before she knew it, however, her sense of sight immediately blurred and pain exploded within her body as sharp teeth sunk directly into her throat. The dog gave her scruff a mighty yank, which only caused Cloudpaw's rather limp body to be tugged backward and into the dirt. What made matters worse was that she was still alive for a few moments after the attack. She felt the pain, she felt the blood pooling and swirling around her head and neck, and she heard the vibrations in the ground as the dog's paws met the earth.

It was almost relieving when her blurry sight finally began to descend into pure darkness. She knew that this darkness meant death, but at least she would be put out of this misery and pain. For almost once in her life, Cloudpaw was completely still and silent, and now, her body would stay that way until the end of time itself.

The familiar scene played out again in front of Bearspirit's eyes. He pumped his legs harder, willing himself to go faster. But he wasn't a Windclan cat. The dog proved to be just fast enough to snatch up the apprentice and end her life with a nauseating crunch. "NO!" He yowled. He could tell by the way her head flopped that she had already passed into the next life. But Bearspirit was still here... and so was the dog.

The tom chased after the dog in his rage, feeling an explosion of white-hot wrath consume his entire being. I need to at least recover her body! ... And I will at least blind you, you monster! Bearspirit hurled himself towards the dog's face, fully intending to latch onto eyes and rip apart ears. With Cloverpaw's body in his mouth, he had no weapons to use.

Bearspirit used Jumping Strike, dealing 10 damage (7+3; oppononet not focused on Bearspirit) and - 7SP
