Luna's MCA Ceremony

Dovefrost nudged the cat that had taken up residence in his den, but this cat wasn't someone who needed to be treated. This was his new apprentice, and today he would be taking her to the moonstone. "Come on, wake up. It's time for me to take you to the Moonstone." He said before turning to his herb store and grabbing a couple things and setting them into two different bundles. One for him, and one for her. He quickly ate his up, before nudging her's closer. "These will help you keep your strength, we have a long journey ahead of us."

Luna opened her eyes, grumbling as she got up. She stopped when Dovefrost began sorting herbs into two bundles for them, a strange sort of feeling coming over her. It seemed to be a cross between excitement and dread, not fully one or the other, but an odd mix that left her feeling quite weird. She ate the bundle quickly, and winced as the taste of the herbs wasn't pleasant. She had an idea of what to expect from this journey, but she thought it best she knew what they were going to be doing. "So what is the purpose of this journey, and what will we be doing at the Moonstone?"

The white Medicine cat let out a small chuckle, like he normally did, whenever someone new ate the herbs. Their reaction fueling his energy to the moonstone. "The purpose of this journey is for me to full induct you as a medicine cat apprentice. I will present you to Starclan at the Moonstone and then you should be able to get to meet them." He explained, not intentionally being vague about the process, he just wasn't good at describing it.

With a flick of his tail he started towards the exit of the camp. "Come on, we have a long way to go. Just stick with me, and nothing bad will happen." Dovefrost explained.

Luna nodded, following behind Dovefrost as they headed out of the camp. Meet StarClan? Are they actually real? This thought bounced around her head continuously, having never believed in something like that before. The she-cat thought it best to do as Dovefrost said, and tried to put her worry out of her mind.

Dovefrost looked back to make sure the former rogue was following him, once he confirmed she was he began to set a steady pace.

It took as long as the Medicine cat had expected to reach Highstones. The rocky terrain rough under his paw pads, but it wasn't anything painful. After his numerous trips here, he was quite used to it. "It's going to get very dark once we go inside Mothermouth." He nodded to the open tunnel just in front of them. "Just follow my scent, and don't panic. Eventually you will know this tunnel like the back of your paw too." The tom spoke before he dove inside the tunnel, going a little slower than he normally would so Luna could learn the way.

After a few minutes of walking, they arrived in the cavern. The Moonstone was slowly beginning to shine as they entered. It wouldn't be long before the stone reached it's full brilliance, just enough time for her to take it in, and for him to preform the ceremony. Green eyes looked back as he settled just in front of the Moonstone, facing the exit. "This is the Moonstone. The medicine cats come here every half moon to visit with Starclan. You will get to meet them tonight." The tom explained.

Once they reached the cave Dovefrost called Mothermouth, Luna realized the ceremony was closer, and she began to feel a seed of doubt begin. She focused on the medicine cats words, and did as he instructed. She followed him in, focusing as much as possible on his scent, and not the complete darkness of the cave. When the reached the moonstone, however, Luna couldn't help but to feel awe. She had never seen anything like it before, and the she-cat couldn't help but stare. She listened to Dovefrost explain, and at his comment of meeting StarClan tonight, she couldn't help but feel that bit of doubt again. She sat and waited, choosing to look at the moonstone for now.

The tom watched her closely, looking for any signs of major doubt, or anything that showed she didn't want to do this. Green eyes scanning her form head to toe, just to make sure. It was almost to late to back out now. If she agreed after his next sentence then she would officially be his apprentice. Dovefrost shifted himself, and sat upright fully. The Moonstone close to reaching its full potential.

"Luna, is it your wish to enter the mysteries of Starclan as a Medicine Cat Apprentice?" He asked.

Before Dovefrost spoke again, Luna reviewed what she was about to choose to do. She took a deep breath, and calmed herself. Now that she was here, she felt that she was making the right choice. She thought it over for just a moment to make sure that she had no more doubts, and then she looked at the medicine cat. The she-cat nodded, "It is." She could tell with those words that there was no turning back.

Dovefrost nodded at her words, silently thankful for her agreeing. He was hoping he was making the right choice, and leading this cat on the right path. "Then from this moment on you will be known as Moonpaw. You are an official part of Thunderclan now." He told her before stepping back facing her and the moonstone more now.

"Ancestors of StarClan, I present to you this apprentice. She has chosen the path of a medicine cat. Grant her your infinite wisdom and insight so that she may understand your ways and serve her clan for many moons to come, even after I have joined your ranks." He said, the words feeling strange on his tongue, but not in a bad way. He never expected to have his own apprentice.

"Now it's time for your part. Settle down next to the stone, and press your nose to it. Starclan will send you to sleep so that they may speak with you." The white fluffy tom said. "I will be here when you wake up."

Luna, now known as Moonpaw, listened as Dovefrost spoke. She was glad to be here, and she knew she was making the right decision. However, the idea that she could be rejected by StarClan bounced around in her thoughts as she did as she was instructed. When Luna touched her nose to the Moonstone, she almost immediately opened her eyes again to a cat sitting in front of her. The she-cat's blue eyes went wide at the sight of a she-cat with stars in her fur. "I'm Honeyfur." The she-cat spoke warmly, observing Moonpaw with amused eyes as the black furred she-cat sat up fully. Moonpaw took a moment before she spoke. "You're from StarClan?"

The golden she-cat could only chuckle. "Yes, and I am here to help you. I understand you have your doubts about the path you are taking?" Moonpaw nodded slowly, not wanting to be rejected for the doubts she had. "You are making the right choice." Honeyfur's voice was kind but firm as she spoke, and her gaze was steady on Moonpaw. At this point, Moonpaw spoke, "Even if I was not originally from ThunderClan?"

Honeyfur nodded, "Of course. Clan cat or not, you will make a fine apprentice. StarClan accepts you as the medicine cat apprentice of ThunderClan." At this, the vision of the cat faded, and she opened her eyes to find herself before the Moonstone once more. She sat up and looked to Dovefrost, sighing with relief.
