Freckleface padded out of ShadowClan camp by herself, the gentle mist that fell from the sky giving her a refreshing sense of adoration for nature and its systems. Today, she'd spend a little time reflecting- on herself, the Clans, Asylum- it was just what she did; how she coped. To be able to think things through and be alone for a little while was precious to her, and she knew now not to ever take that for granted. So, out she padded from the camp entrance, her fur slick with rain and paws coated in mud. It felt nice.

For a while she simply walked around the territory, occasionally sniffing out a bit of stale prey and being disappointed when she couldn't follow the trail because the rain had washed away. She didn't dwell on it though, as she didn't want to bring her mood down. Instead, she thought back on that night that she and Iniko fought side by side despite their differences, and about how he'd saved her from a nasty, bloody fate. She still didn't understand how someone with such horrid intentions for the Clans could do something so noble and kind, how he could save someone that he had imprisoned for moons. It was a complex question that she couldn't begin to answer herself, and at times she was disappointed that Iniko himself was not there for her to ask. And, speaking of disappointment, she felt that way about herself at times. Disappointed that she let herself be put in such danger in the first place, disappointed that she let down her Clan, and disappointed that she was unable to save the tom that put himself in harm's way for her benefit. Died, in order to save her.

She shook her head for a moment, attempting to clear it. While it was something she thought about often, she tried not to blame herself, for she knew that she had no control over Iniko's actions, nor was she responsible for them. She let her mind wander to the final battle between the high-ranking Asylum members and the Mousehunt, as they called themselves. How Beecloud had sacrificed himself to the cause. The petite she-cat could only dream of being so brave and dedicated to such a thing.

Within seconds, Freckleface was pulled away from her thoughts when she heard heavy footsteps and rustling in a nearby bush, and she came to a complete stop and attempted to quiet her breathing. The only sounds remaining were the faint rustling and the gentle pitter-patter of rain hitting the ground. Then, she saw the dense fur of a raccoon, and without much forethought, leaped forward towards the creature and yanked its tail, knowing that it would be shocked enough that she'd have time to come up with a quick game plan to take the predator down.

Freckleface used Tail Yank, dealing -6 Health Points and using -10 Stamina Points. The Raccoon is stunned for 1 turn.

With the raccoon thankfully stunned, Freckleface stood back for a moment and played the scene back in her head, thinking of what might be best to do. Raccoons had much energy but were fairly weak against a cat, and she could use that to her advantage. She wouldn't be able to tire it out, but she may be able to defeat it swiftly- or, if she was lucky, scare it badly enough that it might run away. With a burst of courage, she darted forward and reared up on her hind legs, slashing at the raccoon with her front claws as gravity pulled her back down.

Freckleface attempted to dodge the blow that the raccoon attempted in retaliation, but it had managed to get a fierce grip on her shoulder, digging into her flesh and drawing more and more blood with each second. She writhed around in the raccoon's jaw for a moment, kicking at it with her hind legs in an attempt to get it off of her. It was locked on tight, however, and wouldn't let go. It was almost like the raccoon's jaw had literally been locked on her shoulder, and the pain was so bad that Freckleface thought it might've hit bone. She was finally able to free herself by twisting around and kicking her hind leg into the creature's chest, likely knocking the wind right out of it. This action, however, made the wound on her shoulder even worse than it would have been had the raccoon simply let go. Now, there was a large gash on her shoulder that was oozing blood, and if she didn't hurry and finish this fight quickly, she had reason to be concerned for her well-being.

With her shoulder now free from the raccoon's grasp, Freckleface was able to recollect herself and dart forward from the shadows that covered her, forcing herself forward and onto the raccoon in a flurry of teeth and claws. Once the raccoon stopped moving Freckleface followed suit, but she didn't collapse to the ground- the raccoon, however, didn't share the same fate. It dropped to the ground and slowly, its breathing stopped. Freckleface, panting as a result of the effort, simply stared down at the creature, in awe that she'd so effortlessly partook in a battle. It wasn't a big fight by any means, but she'd done it alone. Predators of any kind plagued her nightmares constantly, so it wasn't a very welcome experience. The rain had picked up and now beat down on her, diluting the stream of blood falling from her shoulder. After several moments spent in silence, simply staring at the predator, Freckleface shook her head and picked it up by the scruff, dragging it across the muddy ground. At least she wouldn't be coming back to camp empty-pawed, eh? This took a great deal of effort, especially considering her freshly wounded shoulder. Despite that, though, she dragged it back the way she'd come, her head swirling with thoughts of what might have happened had she not seen the raccoon first.
