One of Tavora's young ones had been officially inducted into her faction already and with a new dawn, it was time for another two to find their factions. Little Galloway and Hyacinthia. Such elegant names she'd chosen for them, and meaningful ones too. She was destined to become part of the Asylum. With a smile, she emerged from her den to the two kits staring up at her. "Galloway and Hyacinth, son and daughter of Tavora. It is time for you to be sorted into your proper faction." She mewed with pride.

It was a big day for the duo. As Hyacinth padded with the Asylum guard that had been assigned to escort her and her brother, she wondered what faction she might be sorted into. As Tavora's daughter, and a daughter of Iniko himself, she didn't expect to become a Pelt Ward. That was far beyond what she was destined to do. She looked to Galloway with the slightest grin tugging at the corner of her maw. "Well, Galloway. Are you ready?" She mewed, trying to hide the excitement she felt bubbling in her chest.

Galloway felt dashing with his freshly groomed pelt. He had always done it himself, running his teeny tongue over every part of his fur that he was able to reach, consistently missing the base of his tail and the top of his head, just between his ears. The dark, sooty fur that formed a mask around his eyes was therefore almost always in disarray... but that was before, when they lived in the barn, and appearances did not matter. The way Tavora spoke of him and the others, he almost wondered if he was a prince of some sort. It was very important to her that he be presentable. His mother's rough tongue felt like sand being rubbed in a wound, but the results were to die for. He wondered if tending to his silky fur was her way of making up for her own wiry and ever-tangled pelt.

Hyacinth was well-adjusted to the communal lifestyle already. Their father's importance to the Asylum could not be understated, and Galloway's sister took up the mantle of Iniko's Daughter better than any of their siblings had before. She walked, spoke, and preened with absolute regality. Galloway admired her, almost embittered by how naturally she fell into every caste she was presented with. She was a golden child.

It didn't help that Tavora picked favorites and declared them honestly.

"I think so," he whispered. "Just remember... if we get to be in the same faction, that means only one of us can be a captain." He hip-checked Hyacinth and shot her the most impish of smiles. "Unless you'd like to share! You can be my captain-in-training!"

Hyacinth smirked at Galloway's remark, her narrowed, playful eyes portraying a sense of almost kit-like wonder. Although she was to be sorted today, Hyacinth was very much still a child, and certainly had some growing up to do. "Oh, that's quite alright, because one day I'll be the Head of Asylum." She mewed, tipping her head mischievously. Obviously, the little one didn't have plans to overthrow Eris, but she had to step down eventually, and it wasn't as if she had a kit of her own to take over... Well, at least that Hyacinth was aware of.

Once both kits had joined her, Eris bowed her head slightly. "Galloway, Hyacinth, step forward now to receive your rank one faction scars." The large she-cat mewed, unsheathing a single claw. "I take you both to be bonded to the Scout faction." With pride, she smiled largely, and as the kits turned their shoulders to her, she slashed it down their shoulders, first Galloway and then Hyacinth. "Wear this mark of your faction with pride. I expect great things from you both." With that she quickly fluffed her fur up, allowing them a glance at her own Scout scars. Then, she gave them a deep nod and padded off, allowing them to marvel at their newfound family.
