Mother son bonding [closed]

A smile on her face as she watched the sun rise from the horizon, Robinloft readied herself for the day, grooming her pelt and whatnot. Instead of going out on a dawn patrol as she often would, she had different plans. Today she wanted to take her son, Emberpaw, out on a patrol. She wanted to spend more time with her kits, and she knew that Emberkit had recently become an apprentice, meaning that she could go on a patrol with him! Waiting to see the apprentice emerge from the Apprentice den, she decided to take the free time to pick something from the fresh-kill pile. She walked over to it and selected a sparrow, and she quickly dug into it. When she finally did see her son, she called out to him. "Hey! Emberpaw! Over here, lets go on a patrol!"

Emberpaw padded out of the apprentice den and instantly heard his mother, with a smile he padded over to her and nuzzled her fur. Unlike the rest of the litter, emberpaw was the only one that resembled his mother. The rest of his siblings matched their father, beecloud, that sometimes emberpaw wondered why he was the only one. Sometimes he felt so different that its all he would think about, and since he thought a lot it was sometimes very bad.

Emberpaw looked at his mother with a smile, no matter how different he is, he loved his family. "Sure, Lets go mom." He mewed with a smile, shoving those bad thoughts down. Today he would enjoy a peaceful day with his mother, without his siblings to steal all the love.

Tail twitching excitedly, she lead her son to the camp entrance. A wave of discomfort dampened her mood as she remembered that no cat could leave without an Asylum cat following. The warrior was still getting used to the fact that the Asylum was now living among Thunderclan, the fact that they had forced their presence so harshly making her uncomfortable around them. Normally she would try her best to judge a cat only on her personality, but she couldn't help but feel repelled by them. Turning to a specific tom that stood out to her, she walked up to him and spoke with a polite tone. "Hello! I'm Robinloft, and i was wondering if you would like to go on patrol with me and my son? Y'know, since we need to bring Asylum cats along."

Honestly, she didn't know why she had to choose such an intimidating cat to invite. She knew she was slightly taller than the average warrior, but this cat was much taller than she was, and much more muscular. Looking behind him, he saw another cat. Maybe it would be a good idea to invite some cat who was less intimidating to come along as well. "What about you? Would you like to come along as well?" Not waiting for answer, she turned away and back to Emberpaw, flicking her tail for the Asylum cats to follow. Even if the Asylum had their claws wrapped around the camp, she would still give their cats orders if she was the leader of a patrol.

At the sound of pawsteps approaching and a friendly voice, Stag turned around, a surprised look plastered on his face. No cat had every outright asked him to go on a patrol before, it was usually only ever him who asked to go on patrols. Replying to the Robinloft with a slow nod, he turned around to see her speaking to Nova, another Asylum cat. Like his relationship with most Asylum cats, he didn't know the cat all that well besides his name. "What do you say? Do you want to come along?" he looked at the other tom with pleading amber eyes. Being with two Thunderclan cats along would make him uncomfortable, considering how many of them disliked him.

Emberpaw looked on as his mother walked towards asylum cats. After they were done, emberpaw followed his mother.


Nova was cleaning up his fox pelt when robinloft came towards him. She asked them to join a hunt so Nova wasn't really on board, but then he saw stag's pleading eyes and emberpaw coming along also. Out of most the clan cats, some of robins kids were his favorites so of course he would come. He didn't want emberpaw to get injured. "Sure." he said before putting his fox pelt on. If they ran into foxes, they would think the cats were nova's food.

With a quick look behind her to check if the Asylum cats were following, she pushed through the camp entrance, her plume tail getting temporarily caught on a thorn. Maybe she should have paid more attention to grooming her tail rather than her shorter fur. Shrugging it off, she lead the patrol down a path she didn't often take, and one that smelled as if it hadn't been tread by any other cats recently. That would mean that whatever prey was out would be around there, considering that no cat had been there yet today, or maybe even the day prior.

After a bit of walking, she happened upon a clearing. "This seems like a good place to start." She thought out loud. Turning toward the other cats, she explained what they would be doing. "This is where we will be hunting! It would be preferred that everyone bring back a piece of prey or two, but since it's leafbare, it's rather uncommon to get prey on your first try, even for the most experienced hunter." Her gaze swept over the cats before her, her eyes softening when she looked over Emberpaw. "I suppose that's all i have to say. Good luck!" She dipped her head before turning away from the group determined to catch something this time. The last patrol she had been on she had failed at catching a squirrel and then was faced with a porcupine. Hopefully they wouldn't be faced with the same challenge and they could just hunt peacefully.

Following the scent trail of a mouse, she crouched low, keeping her pawsteps light. Looking around the bend of a tree, she spotted her target nibbling at an old acorn a few fox-lengths away. Tail swishing, she focused her skills and stalked the rodent, practically gliding across the forest floor. When she was no more than a fox-length away, she leaped, kicking off of the soil with her hind legs. She aimed her paws right at the mouse, a feeling of satisfaction washing over her when she finished off the kill.

Robinloft attempted to catch a mouse.... and succeeded!

Uncertainly clouded Stag's gaze as he followed the Thunderclanners from their camp. He was mixed with emotions; delighted that he had been invited on a patrol, but also rather nervous. His hunting skills were lacking, and he knew that he would make a fool out of himself, but he still wanted to go. Shrugging off the nervousness that ate at his stomach, he picked up his pace to be just behind the group.

It didn't take long until they arrived at their destination and Robinloft had turned to face them. After receiving an explanation of what they were to do, he set out on his own, trying to stay as far away from the others as possible. He knew he would probably not succeed, why fail in front of cats who were younger than him? it would just be embarrassing. Soon picking up the scent of a thrush amongst the other scents, he did his best to follow it. He had trouble, as he wasn't used to having to track prey. Somehow, out of sheer luck, he was able to spot the bird against the bland landscape, it's small, bleak-colored body being almost invisible on the ground. Delighted, he tried to mimic what he had seen Spark do. He crouched low, trying to keep his large paws from stepping on dead leaves and twigs. Unfortunately, just before he was ready to attack the bird, he unfocused his attention from his paws and stepped on a leaf. "Aww, Fox-dung!" he cursed the words to himself before immediately looking around to see if any cat from the patrol had seen his pathetic attempt.
