A Strange Patrol (closed for Khamosa!)

Streamtail blinked the sleepiness out of her eyes as she padded out of the warrior's den, desperately needing to run around territory to get some of her energy back. Spotting Wisteriabloom sitting in the middle of camp, the older warrior instantly lit up, a smile on her face as she sat next to her first apprentice. "Hello Wisteriabloom! I'm terribly sleepy today and need to go on a patrol. Want to join me? Of course, we might need to take some of the Asylum cats with us too." Giving her pelt a few licks, her eye caught an Asylum cat. "We're going on a patrol. Want to join us or just stay her all day?" The Asylum cat sighed softly, obviously displeased as he joined the little patrol. Three cats was decent enough, she supposed. Turning towards Wisteriabloom, she dipped her head. "Lead the way?"

"Morning," Wisteriabloom said as Streamtail approached her. Even though the tabby she-cat's kits weren't apprentices yet, she had still taken to leaving them for short amounts of time with Cloverfrost. She needed a break sometimes, and now that they were easily eating solids, they didn't need every single second of the day. "Sure, I'll come with you. It'll be good to get out."

As her old mentor had asked, she lead the way out of camp, the rouge that was with them trailing behind, breathing far too loudly fro Wisteriabloom's liking. As Riverclan's territory was so covered in streams, it didn't take long for them to reach one sizeable enough for fishing. "Is here good?" However, she didn't wait for an approval, and flopped down. She dipped a paw into the water and waited for a fish to come near. The river was freezing cold, making her paw go numb.

As she was busy watching the river, it took her a few moments to notice the clattering of porcupine quills. When she eventually did, it was already too late. Its tail came swinging towards her, and she was much too slow to get out the way. It almost knocked her into the river, but she managed to keep her footing. She leapt at it, grabbing its scruff in her mouth and ignoring the pain of her wounds. "Streamtail! Help me," She said, her words muffled by the creature in her mouth. She shook the animal from side to side before releasing it, and when she did, it was too disorientated to attack.

Wisteriabloom used 5 SP to catch a fish. Catch was unsuccessful and summoned a predator!

Streamtail also started to bend down, almost sticking her paw into the river...before something smacked into Wisteriabloom. Gasping in horror as the spiky porcupine appeared, the warrior instantly leapt into action, slamming her back legs into the porcupine's side. "Wisteriabloom! We need to get you to Thornpaw after this..." A porcupine? I haven't met one of those in a...very long time. The blue-grey she cat had seen geese, foxes, Twolegs, but porcupines...well, they were a bit interesting. Not in a good way. Those spikes could hurt a cat severely and even looking at Wisteriabloom's wounds made Streamtail cringe in worry and sympathy.

Wisteriabloom was glad that shaking the porcupine by its scruff had worked, as it barely retaliated when Streamtail kicked it. "I'm fine!" She promised the older she-cat, but her teeth were gritted in pain. Using the time that she had given herself, and that Streamtail was now adding to, she managed to pluck out one of the spines from her flank. If it caught on something, it might cause a greater injury. After the other warrior had attacked, she reared up and slashed at the beast. Hopefully it would be 'out of it' for a few moments longer, leaving more time for the Riverclanners to attack.

Streamtail saw how Wisteriabloom had stunned the porcupine and took the chance while it was still confused. Pride coursed through her as she remembered that this was her apprentice. How improved Wisteriabloom was! The first time she met the she-cat, Wisteriabloom was still a kit! They definitely had a very special bond, and Streamtail would be devastated if anything happened to her. Sliding underneath the porcupine and slashing at the predator's underbelly with her hind legs, Streamtail dove back out, staying away from the porcupine. "If you insist..." The blue-grey she-cat still thought that Wisteriabloom should go to the medicine cat afterwards, but it was her choice. She wasn't going to push.

Wisteriabloom ignored Streamtail's concern at her injuries, and carried on fighting through her pain. It really wasn't that bad, now that she had removed some of the spines. Streamtail expertly slipped under the porcupine's belly and slashed at it, before getting back up again. But she wasn't quite fast enough. Focussing on its new opponent, the beast whacked its tail towards her, lodging several spines in her side. "Streamtail, take the spines out! I can deal with it for a bit," Now she understood her friend's worry at the animal's dangerous spikes, but carried on like she had promised. All the porcupine's attention was still on the older warrior, giving Wisteriabloom a chance to kick it hard with her back legs, sending it flying along the edge of the river. Much to their luck, it composed itself and shuffled away, regretting its decision to mess with the two well-seasoned warriors.

"Are you ok?" She checked after she was sure that the porcupine had fled.
