There Are No Stupid Questions

Asylum taking over might have been a nightmare for the rest of the Clan, but Tinypaw saw a unique opportunity in front of him. The young tom had always wondered how cats outside the five Clans lived-- and now, StarClan had practically dumped a whole slew of outsiders right into his paws.
Tinypaw looked around the camp with eager eyes, trying to pick out the most friendly looking of the Asylum cats drifting about. He had kept his distance from them, until now when his curiosity was becoming too much to bear. He settled for one of the strangers closest to him and approached. “Hi there. I’m Tinypaw,” he said with a friendly wave of his tail. He paused for as long as he could before he blurted out the first of his many questions. “Why do you cats wear pelts? Aren’t they a bit… You know, care intensive?”

Spark had been wearing his fox pelt today in ShadowClan camp. He didn't normally wear it in front of the clan cats, but it was raining, so he used it to keep him dry. It made him stand out as an Asylum cat, however, which wasn't good when trying to confront other cats. The ginger tom was surprised by what looked like a ShadowClan apprentice walk up to him. So his name is Tinypaw... he thought. "It's a symbol of strength, especially if you dealt the finishing blow to the predator whose pelt you wear. It is care-intensive, and it's the job of a pelt ward to keep them clean." Spark kept his answer as concise as possible. He wasn't going to ask any questions himself - he already knew enough about ShadowClan in the time he was here - but he was certainly willing to answer any of Tinypaw's questions.

Tinypaw listened attentively, wide eyes trained on the pelt draped over this cat’s shoulders. “You took down a fox?” He asked, barely unmasked awe in his voice. He’d heard plenty of stories from the warriors about how fierce foxes could be-- but he’d yet to encounter one himself. “All by yourself? Or- or did you have a hunting patrol? Did you get bit? I heard that fox bites can be pretty ugly…”

Spark waited. "I took it down with help," he said, thinking about Thalia and Stag. I miss you guys. "However, I was the one who finished it off." As Tinypaw asked more and more questions, the ginger tom sighed. He really is curious about us, he thought. "I... think I did get bit, but it did heal, eventually." The ginger tom shifted his weight from side to side, expecting to get asked even more questions about Asylum. And he would most certainly tell Tinypaw about everything.
