Hawk Light [Closed]

Primroselight scented it just before she heard her brother's warning. Badger. She had never fought or smelt one before, but she had heard from Nighthawk's tales or their sheer size and strength. Its paw steps were load and heavy on the forest floor as it lumbered towards Dawnhawk. Hoping that it hadn't noticed her, she crept around its side as it still focussed on her hunting partner. Luckily for her, it hadn't taken the time to realise that Dawnhawk was not alone, making it easy for her to confuse it.

As hard as she could, she kicked her back legs into the side of the badger, but it didn't do as much damage as she had expected. Starclan this predator was strong. It may not have done much to injure her opponent, only turned its attention to her. She could feel its breath on her face as she backed up, too scared and stubborn to just run. "Do that tree thing!" She called to Dawnhawk, hoping that he'd understand her. Attacking it from the different angles would probably be the best thing, as she had heard (again, from an elder's tale) that badgers were all brawn and no brains. Maybe that would make it easier to tag-team.

Badger

The grumpy animal didn't appreciate the cat that had come so close to it's home. It appreciated the one that came out of nowhere and kicked it even less. The badger spun and let out a warning growl, a warning that quickly escalated to an attack. It lunged for the cat that had kicked it with an open mouth, intending to wound the creature good enough that it would just go away. The badger, while a grumpy animal didn't necessarily want to kill the cats, but they would be much more wary of it's home in the future once he was done with them.

Dawnhawk

The pale tom was surprised to see his sister attack from the side of the badger. His jaw actually dropped, for once, admiring someone's skill and courage other than his own. She was blind and still not only fought back, but found the badger accurately and actually hit it. He had underestimated his sister, though it was not an unpleasant surprise. His fascination with her fighting spirit was quickly over with once he saw the badger spin and attack her. Primroselight's command to "do the tree thing" left Dawnhawk confused. Tree thing? Sister... our clan moves have names... unless she means I sway in the breeze... probably not though. Had the situation not been so dire, Dawnhawk would have mimicked branches in the wind by swaying his body around and make whooshing noises. There wasn't time for that right now.

Dawnhawk rushed forward instead, not entirely sure he trusted the trees here to hold their form if he were to put his weight on them. The badger was low to the ground, but it had short limbs. Despite how powerful it's jaws were, Dawnhawk knew it would be a useless tool if he could just grab it by the back of the neck. So... he tried it. His teeth sunk deep into the back of the badger's neck, and the animal made... some stars-cursed noise that Dawnhawk didn't even think an animal could ever make. It was enough that it scared the birds from the tops of the trees.

"I go' it!" He called to his sister through a mouthful of angry badger scruff. "Le' 'im 'ave it!"
