Out of character: If you want me to run you through the basics of the hunting system and battle system, I can give you a full tutorial in this thread. It can be confusing at first, but I'll do my best to help you out. Let me know if that would be helpful for you!

Beecloud led his new apprentice through territory, as quiet and spacey as ever. Once in a while, he turned to make sure Flamepaw was still behind him. Sometimes, he'd utter a few simple directions, such as "Oh, watch that log, it's shifty," or "The vines are thornier there than they look." They approached the sandy hollow, and the huge tom turned to face the young she-cat. He wasn't quite sure how to start. His first apprentice... he better not mess it up.

"Hm... Okay," he started, timidly shuffling his feet back and forth. "What are you most excited for, hunting or battle? We'll start with your favorite, okay?"

Flamepaw leaped over a small log, blocking her path. Trailing behind Beecloud, she sighed in contentment.

When they arrived at the sandy hollow, she almost gasped in amazement. It wasn't much maybe for another apprentice or warrior- But she'd never seen much more than right outside the nursery walls. She flicked her ear to acknowledge she heard him, and her excited emerald gaze landed on Beecloud. "Hmmm..." She pondered for a moment, then her gaze flickered to a bird chirping- taunting her- on a nearby tree. "Let's try hunting." She said in a slow voice, clumsily waggling her haunches, intently glaring at the bird.

Beecloud crouched low, sitting at Flamepaw's side with a smile. "Set your haunches lower," he whispered. "Take it from a big cat, you want your belly-fur brushing the ground. Balance is key. If you lean too far to one side, you'll come at it from the wrong angle. With birds, you need to pin their wings down."

He moved backward, letting Flamepaw take the floor. He waited for the right moment, when the bird was most visible. "Jump now!"
