I Have Some News (CLOSED)

Streamtail was swimming in the river yet again. This time, though...she felt tired. No, she felt exhausted. Suddenly, she felt something in her belly, and she gasped. Wha...kits? Oh...Applefang... Streamtail thought in worry. Should she call Spiderquill? No, this was her and Applefang’s conversation. She had to call him. “Applefang!” She yowled. “I have some news for you!”

Applefang had been enjoying a fish in camp when he heard his name called. Springing up on his long legs, he soon spotted his mate. Drawing closer in a quick trot, he finally reached his mate. ”Streamtail? What is it?” he asked. The warrior was usually pretty laidback, but if anything happened to his family...

“Nothing serious...” Streamtail smiled up at Applefang. “But I think we’re expecting kits. I’ve been really tired these days...and I wasn’t sure of it until today. They’re really energetic...” She purred softly, and started to swim back towards the river bank. “I can tell they’ll all be really strong. Just like their father.” Streamtail couldn’t disguise her worry, though. Even though she was happy, she was also nervous about having kits.

Applefang nodded, much more calmly than anyone would have expected him too. ”Oh, you scared me! You didn’t have to make such a big deal, we’re only having-“ he broke off as it finally sunk in. ”We’re having kits!?” he exclaimed, his green eyes wide. His ginger tail cocked high with confusion. He wasn’t really gonna be a father, was he?

Streamtail nodded. “Yes...and I think that they’re going to arrive soon. Don’t be nervous, Applefang. I’ll be okay...I think.” This was her first litter. Oh, she didn’t want to mess up. Her long tail flopped on the surface, and she trembled slightly. “I may have to lay off my warrior duties...for the moment...” She cringed as her kits shifted again. “I can still hunt...though it may be a bit stressful.”
