Silverkit's Apprentice Ceremony

Stormbringer never minded doing the apprentice ceremonies. It always showed the clan was expanding and growing. Soon they would have more warriors to their name, but she didn't know how their numbers could compare to the Five. The gray deputy quickly jumped up onto the Willow Branch calling out, "Let all cats old enough to swim gather here beneath Willow Branch for a clan meeting!"

Silverkit had emerged from the nursery. By now, she was accustomed to the sunlight of the camp, and barely blinked her eyes as it passed over her, warming her pelt. She enjoyed the feeling of being warm, but didn't let her slow it down as she padded to the Willow Branch. She felt certain this would be her ceremony- she was six moons, after all, and there wasn't another reason to call a meeting (that she knew of). So Silverkit gazed up at the Willow Branch with a certain sort of expectation.

"Today we are gathered to name another apprentice. Silverkit please come forward." The deputy's eyes found the kit as she spoke, waiting for her to come forward. When Silverkit had she spoke again. "Silverkit from this moment on, until you earn your warrior name, you will be known as Silverpaw. Your mentor will be Honeytongue. I hope she passes all of her wisdom and experience to you."

Honeytongue had been sitting in the back of the clearing, watching as Stormbringer performed an apprentice ceremony. It was so nice to see the Clan growing again despite everything that was transpiring, a relief and perhaps a sign of good things coming. At least, it was worth to focus on the positive things. Her ears twitched as her name was called, blinking before a smile flashed across her face. She got to her paws, trotting over to greet the newly named Silverpaw with a gently nose touch. "Hello there," she purred, eyes gleaming with pride that she would get to mentor yet another cat. "Its a pleasure to get to be your mentor, Silverpaw."

Silverpaw slowly brought her head around to examine her new mentor. She hastily mumbled a "Hi." in response. She dipped her head to Honeytongue and asked, "When does training start?" A large smile broke out on her face as she asked that. Normally, she would've preferred to learn by observing, not asking, but who cared, at this point?

Honeytongue laughed softly as her new apprentice wasted no time in asking when the training would start, giving Silverpaw a sweet smile. "Soon enough. First, you need to find a nest and settle into the apprentice's den. Take some time to celebrate your new name and get to know your new denmates. Get used to the new duties you now have...Then your training will truly start." There was something so...Nice seeing how excited the she-cat was for training but Honeytongue didn't want to rush into things. Being an apprentice was always something to look forward to but the new freedoms could be...Overwhelming at first. It was better to give Silverpaw some time to adapt before they went into training.
