The wind shifted, and Dappleshine stiffened under Ravenpaw's jaw as the fresh scent of a patrol reached her nose. She pulled back and peered through the branches of the bush, and gasped as she realized how much time has passed. She looked back to her friend, mild panic in her eyes. "You need to go, quickly. A patrol is coming. I'll distract them, go, quickly. I'll see you again soon, okay?" She touched noses with him one last time. "Travel swiftly and safely, my friend." Backing out of the bush, she took sprinted down to the river, wading in before picking up her catches, looking back towards the bush and the moors that lay behind for a moment before intercepting the patrol.
