It was late at night and most cats were asleep, but Mothpaw was wide awake with an idea on her mind. Gently, she nudged her sister awake. "Silentpaw," she whispered, a sense of urgency creeping into her voice. "C'mon, get up! I have an idea!"

This idea was, objectively, probably not the smartest one, given what had happened last time she attempted something similar. But she wasn't thinking about that; she was thinking about how great it was to be with Silentpaw and the rest of her family again. With the return of her family, her seemingly natural happiness had also returned to her, and she found herself unable to keep still. Shifting her weight from one paw to the other, bouncing slightly, looking all around them at everything there was to see.

Gentle prodding rousing her from the only decent sleep she'd gotten in what felt like moons, Silentpaw lifted her head to meet her sister's orange eyes. She'd barely made out the tabby's words through her own drowsiness, but once the whispered urgings had actually pierced the foggy veil around her brain she rose to her paws. Visible confusion shone in the pale apprentice's blue gaze as she dipped into a long stretch. With a yawn, she voiced her question. "What is it...? Don't you know how late it is?"

As a Shadowclan cat, normally sleep would be the last thing on her mind at this hour, but since the clans had been uprooted from their home in the forest, she and many other Shadowclan cats had adapted to mirror the diurnal behaviors of the other clans.

So at the moment, whatever her sister's sudden idea was, it was decidedly ill timed.

Finally, Silentpaw was awake and Mothpaw could begin enacting her plan! "Okay, so," she began, keeping her voice low. "It's simple, really! We should on an adventure!"

She'd said she had an idea, not that it was the most well-thought-out idea to ever exist.

She didn't even have to think about the answer before she turned and plopped back into her makeshift nest, her back to her overeager littermate. "Remember what happened last time you wanted to go on an adventure? Besides... what if we don't make it back before the rest of the clans leave. They did say they wanted to leave the lake at sunrise... and it doesn't look like it's that far off."

"Okay, last time wasn't great! It won't happen again," Mothpaw declared confidently, her tail swishing slightly. "Besides, last time we went on an adventure we made friends, right? And we don't have to go far! Don't you want to try hunting around here? Besides, we're finally together again! We basically have to go on an adventure now!" How she'd made that leap in logic, she didn't explain. "Think of it as... Making up for lost time. And saying goodbye to this place, because even though it hasn't been amazing it's kinda been 'home' for a while now..."
