Thornbriar padded into fourtrees beside her new apprentice. She didn't know how to feel about this whole situation. The little black she-cat had already been through quite a bit, and she was still far too young to have ever even seen one of those StarClan forgive us furless beasts. That being said, all she ever wanted to do was talk, and it was hard to feel sorry for the little black rat thing when all it did was irritate her. On top of that, it was seriously unnerving looking at the Silentpaw clone that was her littermate. Somehow that meek little scrap of fur that she'd grown up with had a doppelganger... with the exact same name. It was creepy to say the least. She was just as quiet as the medicine cat apprentice, but seemed to be a little more proactive than the Silentpaw she knew. Then again, the Silentpaw she knew had lived a messed up life. Thornbriar looked away. Had she not been so ruthless towards any inkling of weakness as an apprentice, she could have potentially done something to help the she-cat. Glancing down at Scorchstar's kits, she sighed. Maybe she'd be able to make up for that now.

Mothpaw ran off quickly at the sight of another cat and Thornbriar left Silentpaw to handle her sister. After all, the two seemed attached at the hip. They could handle themselves for now, she had other matters to attend to. Weaving her way through the crowd and making her way over to the hoard of Riverclanners, Thornbriar sat beside the pretty silver molly with a heavy sigh. "Hope life's treating you better than it is me." she said, voice rough with weariness. The gathering could wait.

Swanpetal had been scanning the crowd, seemingly unable to locate her ShadowClan acquaintance, when the cat in question appeared next to her and began to speak. "From your tone, I'd have to suppose it is," she shrugged. "I've had the chance to spend some time with Wasppaw, at least." Despite her concerns both for and about her eldest daughter, she was determined to spend time with her when she could. She wanted to give Wasppaw everything she hadn't had, after all: a mother who was present in her life (though the resentment towards her own had faded some time ago, it was still somewhat there if she thought about it long enough). A family that was there for her, if and when she needed it. And, most importantly, someone to knock some sense into her when it was necessary. "What about you? You seem less irritable, and more exhausted. It's not like you."

The she-cat nodded her head slightly. "Learning how to kit-sit, essentially. Not fun." she grumbled. Anyone who knew her understood that she was not a people person. Mentoring a future Shadowclan warrior wasn't exactly anywhere near her idea of entertainment, and she seriously questioned any cat that thought it a 'great' thing. That being said... "Wasppaw? That your new apprentice or something?"

"Kit-sitting?" she asked, but before Thornbriar could answer, she suddenly realized she hadn't told Thornbriar about Wasppaw before and shook her head. "My daughter. She's... Something, alright. But I got the chance to take her ice sliding recently." A small smile crossed her expression as she recalled it.

Swanpetal had kits? Well, that was new.

"Yeah, kit-sitting. Apparently Scorchstar thought it a good idea to dump her on me." Thornbriar muttered, flicking her tail in the direction of Mothpaw, who was now chatting animatedly with a small cluster of other apprentices. "I'm a warrior now. Finally managed to convince someone that yes, I can indeed take care of myself."

She sat there quietly for a moment before giving Swanpetal a look. "Wait, what in Magpiestar's name is ice sliding? Some sort of... strange Riverclan practice?"

"Are you going to tell me your warrior name?" Swanpetal asked. Her gaze followed Thornbriar's tail, which was gesturing to a cat that looked much like a smaller Scorchstar. She glanced, briefly, between the leader on the Great Rock and his smaller double, before returning her attention to Thornbriar. "Oh, being a mentor isn't that bad, is it?" She'd had an apprentice, once: Meadowpaw. Not for long, because she had fallen ill shortly after. "Oh, ice sliding! It probably isn't something you'd be familiar with. The pools of water on our territory ice over, and sliding across them can be quite entertaining."
