Froststone slowly padded to the entrance of camp, peering outside of it with his piercing stare. He then padded just outside. It was odd being able to go out of camp now, without a warrior or mentor with him. It felt foreign. He looked up and caught a glimpse of the setting sun, it's rays shone for a small while, then leaving only the sky illuminated. He stared straight ahead, no talking, no nothing. He only thought of serving his clan. Soon even the light left the sky and he was left with the stars above him. The newborn wind of Leaf-fall ruffled his fur, causing a slight chill. He repositioned himself slightly to allow his thick fur to take more of the breeze. Soon he became lost in thought, he wondered what it would be like training an apprentice of his own. Perhaps someday he would be a respected enough warrior to become deputy, then leader of his clan. He suspected not, but it would always be a dream. Soon his eyes caught the night sky beginning to shine once more with the sun's light. His vigil would be over in a matter of minutes. He supposed he should be glad it was over, yet he wasn't. He almost wanted more time to think, more time to be an apprentice and be with his one friend. Would she be proud of him, he suspected not. He just hoped that she would feel the same way that he felt in due time. With that thought, the sky had lightened enough that he could hear cats stirring in the camp behind him. He took one last glance at the sky before heading inside the walls of the well-protected camp. This was only the beginning of his life as he knew it.
