Lilykit's Apprentice Ceremony

"Let all cats old enough to catch their own prey gather beneath High-rock for a clan meeting!" Marshstorm's yowl echoed out, cutting off the activities of a content day in ThunderClan's camp. He stood on top of High-Rock, his tail and posture at ease while his eyes searched for a little, well now larger, brown and gold kit. His amber eyes finally spotted her near the nursery. For too long she had been a kit, though he desperately wished she might never be apprenticed. She was one of his last links to Eaglefang... his own great nephew long passed.

It felt like so long ago now. The memory was like a scab in his chest as he thought about Coyotefang and his legacy. So much had happened and so few of them remained that it felt physically painful to admit it. He pushed back those emotions fiercly as the cats of the clan gathered beneath him. His eyes sought her out once more. Little Lilykit...
"Lilykit, step forward." He ordered calmly as he made sure to breathe.

Lilykit took a deep breath and slowly stood up. She felt the clan's eyes burning on her pelt. She looked up, determination sparking in her eyes.

"Lilykit, you have reached the age of six moons. It is now time for you to become an apprentice. From this day on, until you recieve your warrior name, you will be known as Lilypaw." Marshstorm looked towards a white and brown she-cat. One he had been keeping his eye on since she became a warrior. Her bright enthusiasm and optimisim would be good for the young apprentice. "Cloverleaf will be your mentor. I hope that she will pass on her optimism but also her courage on to you." He smiled and nodded at both cats in turn before he leapt down to join in the celebration of the newest apprentice. His concern melting away, confident that Cloverleaf would take good care of her.
