Reason for becoming an Elder: She's old and tired. Even if she doesn't have great injuries, her muscles aren't what they were in the past due to her constant fights (most of them unnecessary) and the death after death of her kits has left her with no energy. She believes she has fulfilled her duty as a warrior and it's time for her to say goodbye and just rest with her sister, Curlyfeather.
Also, she's starting to develop arthritis, making her warrior's duties really painful.
