Sandkit's Apprentice Ceremony

"Let all cats old enough to catch their own prey gather beneath the Highrock for a clan meeting!" The yowl echoed through ThunderClan. The dark tabby deputy sat calmly on High-rock. His tail twitching slightly in contemplation as he waited for the clan to gather. A gentle breeze ruffled his fur, welcomed beneath a particularly hot newleaf sun. Marshstorm wasn't terribly keen on the bright sunlight, but his eyes were used to it now. He focused his attention on the kit's den. Eager to see the kit he was waiting for to emerge and greet her new life that would await her after the ceremony.

Sandkit ran out of the nursery with a grin. Today she was becoming an apprentice! Nothing could be more exciting! She cleaned herself up before sitting down tall. She was ready! Bring it on!

"Sandkit, step forward." Marshstorm ordered calmly. He smiled at the young kit's enthusiasm and glanced around at the gathered cats before returning to the young kit in question. The one who's life would now change. "Sandkit, you have reached the age of six moons. It is now time for you to become an apprentice. From this day on, until you recieve your warrior name, you will be known as Sandpaw." He meowed confidently as he looked over to a tabby and nodded his head in a gesture to step forward. "Violetfall will be your mentor. I hope she will pass on her loyalty and kindness to you." He nodded once more to conclude the ceremony before he leapt down.

Violetfall padded forward to meet Sandpaw. "Congratulations, Sandpaw," she mewed, smiling genuinely. "We'll start training very soon, so be prepared." The tabby warrior bent down to touch noses with the new apprentice. "I know you'll do great."
