Creamkit's Apprentice Ceremony

As he emerged from his den, Scorchclaw's fluffy tail brushed lightly against the side of the well-woven entrance. His long legs carried him quickly across the camp center and towards his destination - the Willow Branch. Creamkit was ready for his apprentice ceremony; in fact, he had been quite a while ago. The brown tabby tom did not intend to let the ceremony be delayed any longer. Digging his claws firmly into the gray bark of the willow tree, he quickly scaled it to the Willow Branch. He took a deep breath before calling his clanmates together. "Let all cats old enough to catch their own prey gather beneath the willow branch for a clan meeting!"

Creamkit walked out of the nursery looking tall. He was rather proud and ready for the ceremony to begin! He kept a serious face as he groomed his curly pelt quickly so it wouldn't look like a mess. He gazed up and gave a smile. Time to shine!

The fluffy deputy struggled with the fatigue that wrapped around him like a cloak. His eyelids felt heavy; it would be so easy to just close them and not open them again.. Shaking his head, Scorchclaw did his best to drive thoughts of sleep away. It was no wonder he was tired, for a wearying day was drawing to a close. Right now, however, there were more pressing issues. He could rest once the ceremony was over. Upon putting on a forced expression of alertness, he scanned the crowd of Creamkit. Once he had spotted him, he began the ceremony. "Creamkit, step forward." The young tom did. "Creamkit, you have reached the age of six moons, and it is time for you to be apprenticed. From this day on, until you receive your warrior name, you will be known as Creampaw and your mentor will be Lakewhisper." His gaze drifted briefly to the striped white warrior below as he finished up his speech.

He leaped off the Willow Branch, fortunately not tired enough to mess up his landing.

Lilytail had been watching the ceremony unfold. Her bright blue eyes were showing pride and love. She knew all her kits were going to make the clan proud. She chanted Creampaw's name as he touched noses with his mentor. Lilytail couldn't be prouder.
