Small Hunting [Open]

Tatteredleaf sat at the entrance of camp waiting on some other cats to join her for a small hunting patrol. They needed to see what they could find for the clan even if it wasn't a whole lot. The gray and white warrior let out a small sigh. While she was getting better a hunting somewhat it was still very hard for her to hunt. Her scars would scream at her and her good leg would protest taking all her weight.. Sometimes she believed she couldn't be a warrior anymore with this issue.

Heatherpetal was the first of Tatteredleaf's Clanmates to pad up to her. She dipped her head in a respectful greeting. "Are you building a hunting patrol? I would like to come along please, if you'd have me."

Sunpaw quickly followed after his mentor, a hop in his step. "Can I come, too? I've been doing nothing but playing with the kits for a while, and it'll be refreshing to get out of camp!"

Tatteredleaf nodded. "This should be enough for a patrol. Let's see what we catch." The gray and white warrior stood and padded out of camp heading for the Skyclan border. Hopefully they would be able to catch something for their clan.

ooc: You get two attempts at a piece of prey. Just a quick and easy patrol.

Heatherpetal followed the warrior out of camp with her apprentice following beside her, and once they were dismissed she went off to begin her hunt. She quickly sniffed out a rabbit, and she licked her lips before stealthily stalking through the snow towards it. She leaped once she was close enough and she pinned it down, then bit the back of its neck hard before it could utter a sound. Kicking snow over it to hide it from predators, she resumed her search for more prey.

Sunpaw followed his clanmates cheerfully, then split off to find some prey. Before long the russet tom had come across a mouse scuffling through the snow. He crept forward, using the snow to help silence his pawsteps. Suddenly he leapt forward, bringing down his paw hard on its back and ending its life swiftly. He bowed his head and gave thanks to Starclan before moving on, burying the mouse to pick up later.

Tatteredleaf watched at the others split off before going her own way as well. The gray and white warrior moved slowly through the regrowing area. Her mouth open and eyes scanning for a piece of prey. It didn't take long for her to find a squirrel rummaging for seeds it had buried. Tatteredleaf took the chance to crouch and pounce on it. She caught it and swiftly killed it before going on to look for something else.

Sunpaw spotted a squirrel rummaging through the snow at the base of a tree and crept forward slowly. Once he was within leaping distance, he pushed off with his powerful hind legs. He landed forcefully on top of the squirrel, the landing breaking its neck. He plucked it from the ground and trotted back to the other two, pleased with himself.

Tatteredleaf padded further scanning the trees and the brush for something to catch. Her mouth caught scent of it before seeing it. The thunderclan warrior dropped low to the ground and crept forward hoping to catch it. The gray and white stood unsturdy, taking the chance to pounce. Her back leg wasn't strong enough to get the bird. She went back to pick up her other piece, and return back to the others.

Heatherpetal spotted a sparrow fluttering playfully in the snow, and immediately she dropped to her hunter's crouch and began stalking it. She pounced once she got close enough and landed on its back, then bit the back of its neck to swiftly kill it. Stomach growling loudly, she picked up the sparrow and met back with her other two Clanmates, but not before making a detour to dig up her rabbit.
