Thistlekit's Apprentice Ceremony

Ashstar leapt onto the Tallrock. "Let all cats old enough to catch their own prey gather underneath the Tallrock for a Clan meeting!" she yowled commandingly.

Thistlekit walked out of the nursery with an expressionless face. He was jumping with excitement on the inside though. It was his face that was unable to express. He did it through his words and actions. The young tom hoped that this was his apprentice ceremony as he sat down.

Ashstar nodded approvingly at the young kit. "Thistlekit, you have reached the age of six moons, and it is time for you to be apprenticed. From this day on, until you receive your warrior name, you will be known as Thistlepaw. Your mentor will be Brindlewhisker. I hope she will pass down all she knows on to you."

It was always reassuring to see more young cats rise to take their places within the Clan, but it always seemed as if they lacked the needed amount of Warriors to train them. Brindlewhisker's thoughtful gaze remained trained upon Ashstar and Thistlekit throughout the ceremony, taking careful note of the calm expression upon the little tom's face. Ear twitching as Ashstar named her as Thistlepaw's new mentor, the Deputy quickly rose from her place beside the Tallrock and strode out to meet the newly-named apprentice in the center of clearing. "I'm looking forward to training with you Thistlepaw." She mewed softly as she gently touched noses with him.
