Dovepaw was unaware of what was about to happen. The sun was up in the sky, but that didn't mean it was hot outside. The chilly leafbare breeze was still blowing through the moorland and the fur of the gray tabby she-cat. She had woken up early, and had been unable to sleep. So, the first thing she had done was lay in her nest in an attempt to fall back asleep, then she had left camp. Of course, if she saw any prey, she'd try to hunt it. It would be stupid if she passed up a chance to bring back some food to the camp. Despite the fact that she knew that cats would begin to realize that she was gone, Dovepaw had no intention of heading back anytime soon. Maybe if she ended up getting terribly bored, then she'd return.

OOC: Italics means it's his over-suspicious mind talking. That's when he gets all killy killy. Also, there will be an aftermath topic in the med/camp where Wolfpaw comes clean and they recover from injuries, right?

Wolfpaw had never been much of a late sleeper on most days, but today it was bad. He had woken up before sunrise, and went out into the windy moorland, with newfallen snow glistening in the moonlight. As the starlight began to fade and the sun began to turn the dark sky into pale purple, blue and pink, Wolfpaw had already caught a bird or two. He forgot where he buried them, though. As he searched the sun rose, and with it his determination, but to no avail. He could, however, see another cat on his territory. He stalked silently towards the cat, who smelled like she had been on Windclan land for quite some time. It was Dovepaw. His muscles relaxed. But... what was this? Why wasn't she on a patrol? What was she doing out by herself? And what was the worst part was, she seemed to have no intent on taking her prey back to the Clan. His mind connected the pieces quickly. Dovepaw was betraying Windclan! She had to be, that was the only explanation. He unsheathed his claws, growling. Never in his lifetime was any cat going to betray Windclan and get away with it. He ran, full speed, mercilessly raking his claws on Dovepaw.

Wolfpaw used Run-and-Tackle, dealing 9(6+3 for unfocused) damage and using 10 stamina.

Of course, Dovepaw hadn't been expecting the attack. The she-cat let out a shriek as she was suddenly tackled by Wolfpaw. The scent of WindClan crashed over her, and at first, she was shocked that she was being attacked by both a Clanmate and a denmate. A surge of anger and adrenaline rushed through her. She couldn't just sit there and let her be thrown around and attacked, even if it was a fellow WindClan apprentice. Letting out a yelp of protest and fury, Dovepaw unsheathed her claws and raked them across the tom's face.
"What is wrong with you, mousebrain? It's me, Dovepaw! Your Clanmate!" The gray tabby shouted.

Wolfpaw heard only empty words, and his own were like an enraged zombie's. "Traitor! You- you- You, a traitor?" He slowed down for a moment. What? Why would Dovepaw betray Windclan? He didn't need to know her reasons. He needed to punish her, and be recognized as a hero in Windclan. Then he would be mentioned at the next Gathering, surely. He unsheathed his claws again, sliding under her belly as he did so. While he slid underneath and therefore behind her, he used the chance to savagely rake his claws down and across her belly, standing up behind her to strike again from behind.

Wolfpaw used Belly Rake, dealing 7 damage and using 10 stamina.

Dovepaw let out a yelp of pain as two quick attacks were given to her by Wolfpaw. She wasn't a traitor! What had she done wrong? Oh, right, she had done absolutely nothing wrong. She could see the tom slow down for a second, and she could hear the confusion in his voice. However, Wolfpaw still attacked her anyway. With adrenaline rushing through her veins, the she-cat swiped at the tom again. While Wolfpaw still had the audacity to harm a Clanmate, Dovepaw didn't want to maim him. At least she had some decency.

Wolfpaw could feel the wind of the battle. It was sweet, the feel of his own claws tearing flesh and fur,
the wet sticky blood on his paws. He was purging the Clan, and would surely be recognized by Ashstar.
Claws at the ready, the tom lifted his paw to strike the other apprentice one more time. As his paw came down, he came to his senses, sheathing his claws automatically and subconsciously. It was too late, though. Wolfpaw was watching in horror as he himself took down a denmate. Claws or no claws, he had attacked Dovepaw. What had he been THINKING!?

Wolfpaw used Front Paw Blow, using 5 stamina and dealing 4 damage. Dovepaw is KO.

OOC: well this was less fun than I thought it would be as a battle, but RPing insane Wolfpaw is fun! Will you make the confession/recovery topic(in med den or wherever) or shall I? Wolfpaw could drag her back to camp and call for help, and then Dovepaw could wake up and whatnot.

Dovepaw didn't have any time to react after she felt Wolfpaw's paw smack her one last time. After receiving so many blows, the she-cat couldn't even stand up correctly. She felt darkness begin to invade her vision, and trying to blink it away just made it worse. Feeling her paws and legs become numb, the apprentice staggered backwards a tiny bit before collapsing on the ground and passing out.
