Minnowkit's Apprentice Ceremony

"Let all cats old enough to catch their own prey, gather beneath the willow branch for a clan meeting!" Ivyfall yowled for all to hear, her silver fur shining in the moonlight as she scanned the crowd for a particular brown furred kit. It was time for little Minnowkit to take her place amongst the clan as an apprentice.

The rambunctious kitten raced out of the nursery, stumbling over her own feet in her haste to see which what it was about. She had a hunch it was her turn to become an apprentice, but she didn't want to get her hopes up too much.

"Minnowkit, you have reached the age of six moons and it is time for you to be apprenticed. Until you are ready to gain your warrior name, you will be known as Minnowpaw. Your mentor will be Otterleap, and he will teach you all that you need to know." The leader hopped down from the tree to give the kit a fond lick, nudging her towards Otterleap to touch noses.

"Teach me everything, Otterleap!" Minnowpaw yowled with delight as she touched noses with her mentor.

Otterleap gently chuckled at her eagerness.
