Owlkit's Apprentice Ceremony

Leopardstar climbed the Jaggedrock when the moon had reached full height in the night sky and called out to his clan. "Let all cats old enough to capture their own prey join here beneath the Jaggedrock for a clan meeting!"

Owlkit bounded out of the nursery thrilled to see what this clan meeting could be about. He took his place beside his family and looked up at the Shadowclan leader patiently.

Rowantalon nudged his final kit gently, licking his ears and head in an attempt to fix up his fur.
Owlkit was six moons old, and Rowantalon had a hunch that his apprentice ceremony was coming up fast.

Leopardstar spotted the kit and his father standing by and began the ceremony. "Owlkit, step forward." He meowed, looking over the crowd. "You have reached the age of six moons and are ready to begin training. From this moment until you receive your warrior name, you shall be called Owlpaw. Boulderfoot will be your mentor. I know he will train you well." He finished, nodding to the new warrior.

Boulderfoot proudly stepped closer to little kit and lowered his giant head to touch his nose with Owlkit. So soon after his warrior ceremony he was receiving his first and preferably not the last apprentice. But at least now he would not be doing so many patrols; for the time of being a mentor. "I will teach you everything I know, I promise." Tom mewed lifting his huge paw and trying to smile.

Owlpaw excitedly touched his nose to his mentor's. He was excited to start training with the large tom.
