Echokit's Apprentice Ceremony

Fishstar leaped onto the Highrock, ready for another ceremony “Let all cats old enough to catch their own prey gather beneath the willow branch for a Clan meeting!”

Cinderpaw padded out of the medicine cat's den her body feeling much better then it used to. But she didn't care if it didn't, today was a special day for her younger friend. A bright smile on her face and her tail was straight in the air as she padded to the nursery. Maybe Echokit would need any help from her...

Echokit stared at Cinderpaw unblinkingly. He tipped his head at her happy demeanor. It was just another meeting. His eyes brightened as he realized it was his apprentice ceremony. He bolted to Cinderpaw's side in excitement.

"Echokit, please step forward." Fishstar flicked her tail.

Cinderpaw giggled a bit as she saw Echokit eyes brightened up and as he bolted to her side. Her eyes were soft as she nudged Echokit softly with her tail forward.

Echokit nodded, stepping up to the leader. His eyes shone with the tiniest hint of excitement. He looked back at Cinderpaw, a smile forming on his face.

"You have reached the age of six moons, and are ready to be apprenticed. Until you receive your warrior name, you shall be known as Echopaw. Jaystream will mentor you. I trust you will be taught well." She then leaped off of the rock, ending the ceremony.

The gray-blue tabby cat was standing a bit far away from the rest of the cats that were there, waiting in silence for the announcement of the leader while he looked how his friend was with the kit called Echokit.

He only approached the place when the kit was called by Fishstar, looking at him, interested. Since his talk with Cinderpaw in the river, Jaystream had been trying to know more about the kit that gained the trust and friendship of the she-cat. Now it was time for his ceremony and the tom's eyes blinked surprised when he heard his name. He gave Cinderpaw a quick glance before stepping forward to Echopaw. The warrior hadn't met him formally but now he was his new apprentice, Jaystream could finally raise him with Cinderpaw like he promised to her.

His green eyes were watching him and he touched his nose gently, with a smile. "I hope we can be good friends, Echopaw. I'll do anything to teach everything I know." He meowed quietly as he stepped away from him a bit.

Echopaw eyed his mentor, not sure whether to say anything. He gave a small nod, aware that Cinderpaw knows this tom, and trusts him.

Cinderpaw's eyes went wide as she heard Jaystream's name she turned with a wide smile to Jaystream she practically started bouncing on her paws in happiness. She could hardly contain her glee as Jaystream touched noses with the newly named Echopaw. As soon as Echopaw gave a small nod she bounced over to them tears coming to her eyes. "I'm so happy for you Echopaw!" She purred.
