Clover meeting Swan (closed)

"I'll walk with you as far as the border," Swanpaw offered. "We can move slowly if you're scared."

Cloverpaw didn't say anything for a bit. He didn't want to go back yet but he didn't want to bother this she any more then he has already. His tail flicked against the dirt as he nodded slightly.

Swanpaw didn't really want this poor cat to go, but she couldn't just keep him on RiverClan territory, and so she started walking slowly in the direction she had seen him come from before.
"You don't seem so bad," she said conversationally.
From the way she heard older cats talk about the other Clans, this wasn't what she'd had in mind.

Cloverpaw followed Swanpaw with his head down he made sure to follow right behind her since he had no idea where he was but he looked saddened. As she spoke he raised his head a bit then back down to his paws. "You don't seem bad yourself. I've heard Riverclan cats can be grumpy but you are really nice." He was happy to talk to the other, he was always curious about the other clans. He always wanted to talk to other clan cats so that's why he couldn't wait for the next gathering but he wasn't expecting to meet a different clan cat before then.

"Grumpy, huh?"
She laughed a little. "Well, thank you."
She slowed down just a little more - she didn't want this moment to end just yet.
She had a friend. Or at least, she thought so.
A friend who was supposed to be her enemy.
Although she knew it had to be that way, she wished it wasn't.

Cloverpaw blushed slightly to her laughter. He said something dumb didn't he? It seems like that is what he does around she's. He gulped then gave her a small smile, "Your welcome." Is this what its like to have a friend? Or rather a friend from another clan? He hasn't really had much friends since his parents were so strict on what he did and even with Stoneheart he was too shy to talk to others. He really only talked to Stoneheart or his siblings.. He didn't understand the whole different clan cats can't be friends thing to him cats are cats he can't figure out why it should matter that they are from different clans.

Swanpaw laughed again, not for any real reason - she just found it nice.
To be happy for once, and letting down her guard, mistake though it may well have been to do so.
She found that they were approaching the border, but still didn't particularly want this moment to end.
She looked at Cloverpaw, and tried to think of something she could say.

Cloverpaw didn't know what to say back so he put his head down to hide his blush. This she was nice and even though he guess he wasn't supposed to let his guard down around other clan cats but he couldn't help it around this she. He opened his mouth then closed it not sure what he wants to say till he glanced up and noticed they are at the border. He defiantly didn't want to go back yet but he still didn't say anything. His green eyes glanced towards hers his face flustered and slightly red. He took a deep breath, "So...um.."

"Well... This is the border," Swanpaw said simply.
She tried to think of an excuse to let this moment go on, and eventually...
"I think we could still talk if we each stand on our side?" she offered, wondering if that would make as much sense to the other apprentice as it did in her head.

Cloverpaw nodded he opened his mouth then closed it again trying to think up something. His eyes whipped up at her suggestion it took him a bit to figure out what she meant before he nodded again. He stepped over the border to his territory and looked over shyly towards her. "I..thank you for helping me..um..what does Riverclan typically do? Like how do you guys fish? That is so weird to me. How do you not drown? Is there some trick to swimming?" As he started talking the questions all came out in a rush of words.

"I don't think there's any particular trick to it. We start in shallow water, and work our way up to the river," she explained.
"But my mentor hasn't taught me how to fish yet, so I don't know about that part. What about WindClan cats? How do you run so fast?" she asked, genuinely curious.

Cloverpaw has stars shinning in his eyes as he silently listened to Swanpaw, he nodded after a few words. It looked like he has never heard anything more interesting in his life. As she finished he was taken back by being asked a question. He shrugged, "We just start running and eventually it feels like we are gliding along with the winds, a lot like birds I think. It is the most wonderful feeling in the world." His eyes grew soft as he thought about how much he loved running. "But how do you swim? And why hasn't your mentor taught you how to fish yet? I thought that was what every Riverclan cat learns first after swimming.." He shrugged, "What do I know?"

"Usually it is," she nodded, but refused to explain further.
No good giving another Clan cat, friend or not, anything that could indicate weakness.
"And we just... Use our paws to move in the water, I guess? I've never really thought about it before."

His head titled at her answer, he can tell there was more to it but he knew better then to pry. So he simply looked to his paws as she started talking again. His ear flicked at her words, "Really? That sounds so weird. Maybe.. Maybe you can show me sometime?" He spoke the question in a low tone expecting the she to say no or to yell at him.

"Well... I don't see why I couldn't," she replied. "It's not weird at all, though! Maybe it is to other Clans, but not to us, at least. ...I suppose that every Clan must confuse the others in one way or another, don't you think?"
Whether it was RiverClan's affinity for water or WindClan's speed, or ShadowClan cats going invisible or SkyClan cats flying. She wasn't entirely sure all of those things were true, but until she saw for herself she couldn't be certain.
She realized that she must have been confusing him, and sighed. "I'm sorry, I don't know why I'm telling you these thoughts."
