Ashkit's Apprentice Ceremony

Leopardstar climbed the Jaggedrock again and called the summons. "Let all cats old enough to capture their own prey join here beneath the Jaggedrock for a clan meeting!"

Ashkit pushed his way to the front, tufted ears pricked in anticipation. His fur was bright, standing out against the sea of darker cats.

This had better be me, he thought impatiently; and then felt his fears melt away. Maybe it was a ceremony for one of his littermates—he would be just as happy for them. The young tom glanced up toward Leopardstar, trying to sense a clue in the leader's gaze.

OOC; no problemo

Leopardstar spotted the kit standing by and began the ceremony. "Ashkit, step forward." He meowed, meeting Ashkit's young gaze with his own. "You have reached the age of six moons and are ready to begin training. From this moment until you receive your warrior name, you shall be called Ashpaw. Mudfoot will be your mentor. I trust he will teach you honor and dedication." He finished, nodding to the brown warrior.

Ashpaw let out a thick purr at his new name, though finding himself thinking angrily for a heartbeat—I do have honor! And dedication! His eyes flashed for a moment, before he turned to the old warrior. Excitement bubbled up inside of him and he forgot all his impatience. He would finally be able to train to become a warrior.

Lifting his pink nose to touch the tom's, the young apprentice felt himself glow from the inside out. This was his moment. "When…will we start training?" he asked, eyes bright, light fur billowing sideways in the breeze.

Touching noses with his new apprentice, Mudfoot let out a content purr. "We'll start first thing tomorrow," the warrior mewed with a smile, glad to see that the younger cat was enthusiastic about starting his training.
