Bravepaw's Assessment (closed)

Sitting near the camp entrance, Mudfoot waited for Bravepaw in silence. The sun was beginning to set and the noticeably warmer night air was settling across the forest. Tonight, the tom would assess his apprentice and he was confident that he would do great. Well, that was if Bravepaw could complete the first task of the night; wake up for the patrol on time.

Bravepaw woke up and shook his messy fur out before he groomed it quickly. She then looked at around. He then padded from the apprentices den to his mentor"ready to go"he mewed.

Lifting his head from looking down at his paws, the tom let out a soft meow of greeting. "Today I'll assess you on what you know. Let's go," the russet colored tom spoke as he stood up and gave his hind legs a stretch. Trotting out of the camp, Mudfoot headed into the marshy land. "Alright, soon to be warrior, lead the way," the tom chuckled with a smile, slightly slowing his pace so Bravepaw could catch up. It was always good to let the apprentice lead some patrols, and this was the true test.

He blinked before slowly nodding. He found it strange that this was in his assessment but he said nothing as he led the way through the territory his destination was the Thunderpath.

Following Bravepaw, the tom wondered where the apprentice was taking, but from the looks of it, they were headed towards the Thunderpath. 'A good place to start I suppose,' he thought to himself quietly as the pair kept a steady pace towards their first destination.

Bravepaw hoped he chose a good place to start. He could see the Thunderpath come into view as he reached it. He stopped briefly and glanced back to his mentor with his blue eyes.

Stopping near the Thunderpath, Mudfoot looked down to Bravepaw. "Everything clear?" he asked, wanting his apprentice to figure out if the coast was clear or not for himself.

Bravepaw flicked an ear before he cast a brief glance around before he spoke"yes it's clear"he mewed.

"Good job," he mewed in reply, flicking his ears and sniffing the air. Sure enough, nothing seemed to be out of the ordinary. "Let's do some hunting now," Mudfoot added and started to make his way back onto the marshy territory.

He blinked before he gave a slight nod and quickly followed after his mentor ears pricked and mouth slightly open as he took in scents around him making sure to remember each one he took in to hunt in the next few moments. He looked to his mentor as they made it into the marshy territory.

"I want you to hunt two frogs," the tom stated when the two of them reached an area near the center of the territory.

He flicked an ear then gave a brisk nod"two frogs alright"he mewed determination shining in his bright blue eyes and he flicked his tail. He then went off by himself. He followed the two different scents of frogs that happened to lead in about the same area. He spotted the slimy amphibian and crouched approached on silent paws before he leapt. He landed squarely on the frog and killed it swiftly before hiding it for later. He then continued on.

He then continued onto the next scent and once again he spotted the dark green amphibian. He approached silently footed before he leapt.he missed it by a nose length and he let out a slight upset growl as it hopped out of his grasp
