Her morning began when the sun had rose, the sound of small birds filled her ears. Rosefur had glanced into the apprentice's den hoping to spot Ivypaw but she couldn't see into the dark den. The warrior figured that she would wake up eventually, so she had waited hoping that she would wake up soon.

Ivypaw's morning had technically begun during the night. Having gotten used to being up late into the night hours with the other kits at the nursery, her shift in schedule was still in progress. Curled up with her back towards the opening of the den in hopes to block out the sun, she quickly stirred when there was a shift in the level of light she could see with her eyes still closed. The frame of a warrior was easily noticeable, as Ivypaw had trained herself to scope out Rosefur. After all, shouldn't one be able to see their mentor?

Rising from her nest and stretching, the growing she-cat silently slipped out of the comforting enclosure. While her dull green eyes still blinked away sleep, any sign of tiredness was gone from the silver tabby otherwise. "Did I keep you waiting long?
I'm sorry, Rosefur."
The apprentice hung her head with slight guilt. The last thing Ivypaw wanted from her mentor was to be known as the one who could never get up on time. Shaking it off quickly, her ears perked somewhat as her tail lifted with enthusiasm. "What do you have planned for today?"

In truth Rosefur didn't wait to long for Ivypaw, it was just her lack of patience but she didn't want to blame Ivypaw. When she had spotted Ivypaw the she-cat let out a soft purr getting back onto her paws. "Good morning Ivypaw! " She mewed happily before tilting her head. "Yes a little, but thats okay." She said with a shrug walking off and signaling her apprentice to follow her with a nod of her head. Rosefur glanced back towards Ivypaw and a soft chuckle came from her. Rosefur always enjoyed having her apprentices wonder what they would be doing, usually if it was something they weren't to fond of they wouldn't give their best effort. "Oh! we're doing lot's of things today." A purr rose from Rosefur and she led Ivypaw away from the camp.

A quick apology came from the apprentice even with the reassurance from her mentor. She would definitely get better at rising to the time she should be up, even before her mentor came and summoned her. If Ivypaw were to become a good warrior, she'd have to go above and beyond Rosefur's instruction. Hearing Rosefur's 'plans' for the day, the new apprentice's tail swirled. One day... one day she'd get Rosefur to tell her exactly what they were doing. The suspense was fun, but it was also a bit frustrating. "Alright. I'll put forth my best effort!" A grin was plastered on her metallic-colored face, her long whiskers twitching as a gnat flittered past just a hair too close.

The she-cat's whiskers twitched with amusement, Ivypaw was a goodhearted apprentice she was glad that Magpiewing had decided her to do her training. The forest had been blooming, after leafbare had passed everything sprung back to life and even though Rosefur enjoyed the beauty of the snow she was glad to finally be able to catch more prey. The warrior stopped near a border and sat down before they actually did some important things Rosefur wanted to make sure that Ivypaw knew the code. The ginger she-cat gazed into Ivypaw's green eyes. "So Ivypaw... can you recite the code for me?"

Recite the warrior code? Of course she could! Ivypaw had been learning it from the day she could hear - listening to other apprentices recite it around camp and almost quiz each other on their memory. She took a deep breath, her tail flicking in the air. "Defend your Clan, even with your life. You may have friendships with cats from other Clans, but your loyalty must remain to your Clan, as one day you may meet them in battle. Do not hunt or trespass on another Clan's territory. Elders and kits must be fed before apprentices and warriors. Unless they have permission, apprentices may not eat until they have hunted to feed the elders. Prey is killed only to be eaten. Give thanks to StarClan for its life." Ivypaw paused to breathe, taking a moment to contemplate what the code was from there. "A kit must be at least six moons old to become an apprentice. Newly appointed warriors will keep a silent vigil for one night after receiving their warrior name. A cat cannot be made deputy without having mentored at least one apprentice. The deputy will become Clan leader when the leader dies or retires. After the death or retirement of the deputy, the new deputy must be chosen before moonhigh." Yet another pause, this time her mind racing even more to figure out what the rest of the code was.

"A gathering of all four Clans is held at the full moon during a truce that lasts for the night. There shall be no fighting among Clans at this time. Boundaries must be checked and marked daily. Challenge all trespassing cats. No warrior may neglect a kit in pain or in danger, even if that kit is from a different Clan. The word of the Clan leader is the warrior code. An honorable warrior does not need to kill other cats to win his battles, unless they are outside the warrior code or it is necessary for self-defense. Finally, a warrior rejects the soft life of a kittypet." Out of breath, the apprentice took a moment to catch the breath that had escaped her chest. "I-Is that right?"

Rosefur listened carefully and intently as Ivypaw recited the warrior code, she was expecting no less that she would know the code and Rosefur was glad that she took it very seriously as a apprentice, she remembered that she didn't really care for the code during her training days but the lesson from Thrushstripe had changed her mind ever since. She glanced back up at Ivypaw and nodded happily. "Yes! Excellent, very good Ivypaw." Rosefur mewed with a purr and got back onto her paws. "Now! Lets see your hunting position!!"
