dapplekit smiled at petalkit and, with claws sheathed, batted at fangkit with her good front paw then kicked him away with her strong back legs. "that's what you get for being mean!" she said as he landed on a thornand screamed for help

Fangkit looked at the she-cat that had yelled at him, and was about to give a menacing reply when a paw swatted him over the muzzle. Growling angrily, he looked at the she-cat that had attacked him. Dapplekit. As her back legs came forward to kick him, he jumped back, sliding a little ways before coming to a complete stop. "What sloppy form, you'll never be a good warrior if that's all the skill you possess." he shouted, quoting from some of the elder warriors he had heard when they were reprimanding a young apprentice. In truth, he didn't know what good form for a kick was, but he knew that if he could dodge the strikes, the small kit wasn't very good at fighting. "If it's a fight you want, come at me like you mean it, or not at all." Another phrase he heard in one of the elders stories. He unsheathed his claws, obviously showing off their fine, curved tips. He wasn't in the mood for any kitty play games. He was dead serious about fighting, even as a little kit.

Petalkit unsheathed her claws and sprang at fangkit raking her claws down his back, then she nipped his hindlegs, so fearsly that she felt bone underneath, and got out from under him before he could drop and squish her. Petalkit narrowed her eyes and sprang once again, this time she leaped for his mussule ad racked her claws across his nose and darted away before he could put in a blow of his own.

As Petalkit leaped at him, Fangkit, felt himself instantly react. He stood back on his hind-paws, dodging the pounce that could have viciously harmed him. Swiftly he slammed his paws back on the ground attempting to slash down on the she-kits forehead, but was too slow as she continued her assault. As she went for his hind legs, he sprang up on his forepaws, kicking out with his hind-paws. If Petalkit would continue her bite, Fangkit would slam his paws into her muzzle, giving her but a second to dodge. The fast strike was instinct for the small kit. And he couldn't help instinct, even though he knew he shouldn't be fighting viciously with his claws unsheathed. He had only meant unsheathing his claws as a threat to the kit, not to start a fight, and Petalkit had taken it that way. Maybe she was defending Dapplekit, or something, he didn't know. All he knew was that a fight had begun, between kits. And possibly not that dangerous. What was dangerous if they landed a hit. He couldn't have that could he, he couldn't show weakness.

If Petalkit continued her assault on the poor Fangkit, he would duck his head, just before the claw strike to his nose, the result would be the she-kit only barely grazing the hairs on his head. He couldn't believed that had worked. He had thought he would be completely out of it, being just a lowly kit and not having any fighting training. But he guessed those little scuffles in the nursery paid off. A tiny bit anyway. If the kit darted away, Fangkit would laugh, what an embarrassment, attempting a few strikes and then running away at the first sign of trouble. "What a coward, you'd never make it as a warrior." He spat. Not knowing if this was true, it could be that this was how warriors really did fight, and he was all wrong. This uncertainty shook him, but he still had what resembled a smirk on his face. The gleam in his eye shown sparks. Fire light danced behind those brown eyes. He wished he could again.

occ: i darted away so i cold land another blow after you actuly strted to put up a fight.

"You want a bet on that, succer." Petalkit retorted back, and crouched ready too spring and tear out clump of Fangkit's misurable fur and teach him a lesson.

occ: someone has got to stop this fight before we kill each other. Where is Blossomfrost in this.

Deathpaw heard the two kits yelling and ran over to them. "Hey what're you two doing?"

Petalkit frose at the sound of Deathpaw's voise. "Nothing" Petalkit said inosently trying to hide her scraches.

Deathpaw saw the scratches on the two kits. "You two have been fighting with you're claws unsheathed haven't you?"

"I was just showing Petalkit some interesting battle moves." he muttered, sheathing his claws instantly as he saw the apprentice coming, his superior. A fact he hated. He looked at Deathpaw with a quiet stare, the intensity of the last time had gone. He didn't know why he was covering for the kit, if he wanted too he could get her into some serious trouble. And he had a few scratches he could use as a proof, but he didn't feel like doing that. It just seemed so insignificant. It would seem as if he were whining for no reason, and he wasn't some kit that needed to be babied. He was almost ready to be an apprentice, he had to start acting like that. He glared at Petalkit with mock anger. "Isn't that right, Petalkit? These scratches were purely accidental."

"Okay..." Deathpaw said.

Petalkit was suprised that Fangkit had covered for her, "Y-yes thats right" and looked inosently at Deathpaw. "Fangkit just tought me the most awsome battle move. Watch this!" Petalkit crouched and narrowed her eyes at an invisible enemy, then she sarted forward pretending to nip it's hind leg and then sprang high in the air as though to confuse it and landed on it's back, using her hind legs to rake the invisible enemy's back and her front legs to land in some blows. the hole thing was over in just a few heartbeats. "Tadah!"

"Okay, well have fun, just be a little more careful." Deathpaw said and walked away.

Fangkit sat down, his former aggressive mood having vanished completely. Now all he wanted to do was lick his fur and be done with it. But the feeling of having the power to hurt people at his paw tips... It was a feeling he would certainly remember when he finally became a warrior and got to be in real fights. Not scuffles with kits, but fighting other clans. Being regarded as a hero by other cats. He watched as Deathpaw left, and kept on licking his fur, waiting until he had completely gone until he looked back at Petalkit, the same fire light in his eyes again. The look of fury back on them. "We'll continue this little scuffle later." he growled. Right now, he wasn't in the mood for a fight, all he wanted to do was relax now, and get back to sleep. How would it look if he got into trouble with his soon-to-be fellow warriors? They'd think of him as an immature fool.

"we will!" Petalkit called after her, then when she was out of earshot Petalkit turned to Fangkit. "Why did you do that?"

dapplekit was hidden in a thick gorse bush where nobody could see her. she was ready to spring if things got bad again.
