Gorsekit's Apprentice Ceremony

"Let all cats old enough to climb a tree gather beneath the tallbranch!" Rippedsky yowled from the tallbranch. It had felt incredibly strange to take Crowstar's place above the clan. But an apprentice needed to be named that day. Gorsekit was out growing the nursery, it was certainly time. The black and white tom's blue eyes scanned the clearing, waiting for them all to gather below.

Gorsekit was the first to rush from the nursery. Was this his ceremony? Or perhaps Emberkit's? Either way, the kitten planted himself beneath the Tallbranch, eyes glimmering with excitement. His paws were itching in anticipation. Please be me...

"Today we gather to make a kit an apprentice," His voice echoed through the clearing as soon as he saw Gorsekit join the crowd. Excited whispers and murmers died out as they waited to see who it was. Rippedsky felt strange in his leader's place, but none the less was excited to see Gorsekit grow. He offered the young tom a soft smile, "Gorsekit, having reached six moons, you will from this day forth be know as Gorsepaw until you have earned your warrior name. I have been without an apprentice since Kestrelpaw's death; I will be your mentor." With that the deputy leaped down to touch noses with his new apprentice.

"I cannot wait to begin our training," Rippedsky meowed happily as he locked eyes with Gorsepaw.
