Raccoonpaw's Warrior Ceremony

"Let all cats old enough to gather their own prey gather beneath Tallrock for a clan meeting!" the grey and white deputy meowed as he jumped up to the rock. Smokepelt was ready to give another apprentice their warrior name and was overall happy to see the clan keep on growing.

Raccoonpaw padded out of the apprentices' den and over to the tall rock.

Mottleheart stepped from the warriors den, ignoring the slight discomfort in his leg from where the owl had gotten him from Raccoonpaw's assessment. He knew what this ceremony was all about and took a seat not far from his daughter while watching with bright eyes. No words could describe how proud he was of his daughter and was pleased to know that she would be joining him in the Warriors den.

Seeing the clan gather, Smokepelt decided to start. "Raccoonpaw, please step forward." Once the apprentice did, he continued. "I, Smokepelt, deputy of WindClan, call upon my warrior ancestors to look down upon this apprentice. She's trained hard to understand the ways of your noble code, and I commend here to you as a warrior in return. Raccoonpaw, do you promise to uphold the warrior code and to protect and defend your Clan, even at the cost of your life?" the tom asked, looking down to the apprentice.

Raccoonpaw took a step forward and sat in silence as Smokepelt spoke. She nodded in answer adding an "I do." when he was done speaking.

"Then by the powers of StarClan, I give you your warrior name. Raccoonpaw, you will be known as Raccoonfang. StarClan honors your loyalty, determination, spirit, and we welcome you as a full warrior of WindClan." With that, the tom jumped down from the Tallrock and padded over to the young she-cat, giving her a respectful dip of his head, and then stepped back so that the rest of the clan could greet the newly appointed warrior.

Mottleheart shifted on his paws as his daughter was called up and the ceremony was held, holding his breath until her new name was given - Raccoonfang. He quickly jumped onto his paws, his eyes glimmering as he raised his voice to StarClan above. "Raccoonfang! Raccoonfang!" he cheered with the rest of his Clanmates before he trotted over to his daughter and rubbed his cheek against hers. "Congrats my little warrior," he purred.
