Let's Hunt [[Open Patrol]]

Littlebrook padded over to the camp's entrance, deciding she was going to start a patrol. Sitting down, tail neatly wrapped around paws, she glance around the clearing for anyone approaching.

Mousefang padded from the warriors' den, stretching his hind legs and yawning rather loudly. His fur was still ruffled from sleep and he didn't bother smoothing it down as he went about his business. He spotted Littlebrook waiting expectantly by the camp entrance and decided to go ahead and join a patrol before Leopardfang assigned him to boring guard duty again. "Hey, Littlebrook. I'll tag along with you if you don't mind." The young warrior meowed casually, stifling another yawn.

Ryepaw emerged from the apprentice's den, his medium-length fur still rumpled from sleep. Yawning, the young tom looked around the camp for his mentor Wildfang. Not seeing him, the pale ginger tabby padded out into the clearing towards the small group of gathering cats. With a friendly, but tired, smile, he meowed; "Can I join you guys?"

Darkpaw was stanidng outside the apprentices's den, bored, she flicked her tail, then, she saw a small group of cats, she knew it was for a patrol, she approached to them and said '''Hello, can i join you?''

Waspstep saw the gathering group of warrior's and apprentices. It looked to be a patrol. He would love to do something outside of camp, and stretch his legs. "Can I join?" The Warrior asked.

Littlebrook purred softly as her clanmates joined her one after another. "Sure you guys can come." She responded before glancing around once more to make sure nobody else was coming. "Alright, I think this'll be enough for a hunting patrol. Let's go." She meowed finally, leading the way out into the cold marshy territory. Her tail swayed back and forth quietly as she kept her nose and ears open for any tell-tale sign of prey. Blue gaze taking in the snowy terrain intently, her eyes gazed upward for a moment at the starry pelt above them. She smiled softly to herself. It was always comforting to have them there and to know her ancestors were watching over her and the clans. After the Dark Forest took over and they left, she never took that comfort for granted.

Ryepaw purred excitedly, and trotted out of the camp after Littlebrook. The young tom had only hunted a few times, so this seemingly mundane task still held quite a bit of fun for him. Glancing back, he beckoned his friend Darkpaw with his tail to catch up with him. A playful glint in his icy greenish-blue eyes, he meowed a challenge; "Hey, I bet I can catch more prey than you." Narrowing his eyes, he waited to see if she would accept his unspoken dare.

Mousefang followed directly behind Littlebrook. He didn't have much to do with any of the cats on the patrol, so he kept mostly to himself and grinned as he listened to the apprentices. No one would be able to out-hunt him! Maybe it was his stubborn pride getting in the way, but he stuck his nose in the air of catching the first scents of prey.

Littlebrook smiled when she overheard Ryepaw challenge Darkpaw. It made her miss being young and so full of energy. She shook her head in amusement before perking her ears at the sound and scent of a nearby toad. With a look of determination, she nodded to Mousefang before creeping away towards the creature.

A couple of moments later, Littlebrook returned to the group with a toad in her jaws. She paused beside a pine tree to bury it with the intention to come back later for it. Finishing up, she flicked her tail in satisfaction and began padding quietly through the territory once again, searching for prey.

Waspstep followed behind the other warriors and apprentices, bringing up the rear. He remained silent not saying much but observing the energy of the younger cats. He missed that positive energy, but he probably wouldn't find that anytime soon.

He split from the group for a moment to go after a lizard he had scented. It took a while for him to find it and catch it, and shortly returned to the group to bury it along with the frog.
