Just a patrol (Closed)

Maplecloud sat at the entrance to Thunderclan camp, hopefully waiting for someone to join her on a patrol. When no one  joined her right away, she decided to let everyone know."I'm going on a border patrol, would anyone want to join me?" Her voice cracked slightly, but she knew she was okay and continued to look about for someone to join.

"I'll come!" Amberpaw trotted over, green eyes bright and happy against her strangely mottled fur. "I wanna catch my first piece o' prey soon." She settled beside the older warrior, fur buffeted in the cool breeze. She didn't know Maplecloud that well, but her mother did, so why not find a new friend?

"Sounds good!" Amberpaw agreed enthusiastically, bouncing on her paws. "Let's go!" And with that, she was off, her fur flying behind her in an array of colors.

Once they'd reached the forest, near enough for her not to be lost yet—she'd only explored it several times before—but far enough for them not to be practicing on top of the clan cats—she paused, glancing back toward Maplecloud. The apprentice, with her mismatching fur, blended into the woods almost perfectly; her stormy brown fur was camouflaged in with dark trunks and dirt, her russet and sandy patches appearing to be dancing streams of sunlight flickering through the trees.

"This is my hunting crouch," she chirped, dropping into a crouch, her forearms tensed, tail still behind her. Amberpaw's eyes were narrowed, as though she could see an imaginary squirrel only a few leaf-lengths away.

Maplecloud darted after the young she-cat, hoping she wouldn't go to far. She came back to her going into a hunters crouch, and a good one at that."Seems like a good one to me!"  She had to admit- it was pretty good."Now, why dont we try for some real prey, eh?"

Blacktwig trotted over. "Hey!" he called cheerily, although his heart was shattered on the inside. He couldn't get over all of the things he had witnessed lately; and perhaps a simple patrol would take his mind off of it. He saw innocent, truncated Amberpaw, his niece. He dipped his head to her with respect, and to Maplecloud, too.
