Pansypaw's Warrior Ceremony

It was time for another apprentice to become a warrior. Pansypaw. Vixenheart was proud of the apprentice, and she couldn't wait to see what she'd end up doing in the future as a warrior. Leaping up onto the Tallbranch, she let out the familiar call.
"Let all cats old enough to climb a tree gather beneath the Tallbranch for a Clan meeting!"

Pansypaw emerged from the apprentice's den, her gray-and-white patched fur groomed to shiny perfection. She had finished her assessment a few days before, and had been excitedly awaiting this meeting. Smiling up at Vixenheart, she took her seat near the front of the crowd, looking around for her family and friends. She couldn't wait to celebrate with them. If only Bouncepaw was here to celebrate too......

Meeting Pansypaw's smile with one of her own, Vixenheart began the ceremony.
"Pansypaw, please step forwards." She said to the soon-to-be warrior.

Rippedsky padded out into the clearing. A soft-smile washed over his features as he realized Pansypaw was finally getting her warrior name. He sat down not too far off from her, wanting to be one of the first to congratulate her.

Purring a friendly greeting to Rippedsky, Pansypaw stood up and made her way to the front of the crowd. Holding her head high, she stopped at the base of the Highrock, looking up at Vixenheart proudly. Today is the day I've been dreaming about my whole life! To be a loyal warrior of ThunderClan

Really? Would a 'loyal' warrior be running off to see a RiverClan medicine cat? Her conscience put a dent in her happy attitude, dimming her smile, but she continued to wait for Vixenheart to begin the ceremony.

Deadpaw padded out of the apprentice's den, he had hoped to train with Pansypaw, but he had been made an apprentice only yesterday. He was happy for the she-cat though, she had been one of few cats to make an effort to know him. He couldn't help but daydream about his own warrior ceremony, and he sat down to watch his mentor finish the ceremony.

"I, Vixenheart, deputy of SkyClan, call upon my warrior ancestors to look down on this apprentice. She has trained hard to understand the ways of your noble code, and I commend her to you as a warrior in her turn," Vixenheart began, "Pansypaw, do you promise to uphold the warrior code and protect and defend your Clan, even at the cost of your life?"

Her heart fluttering excitedly in her chest, Pansypaw took a deep breath and responded with a confident "I do." This was the biggest oath she would ever take in her life, and she was ready for the responsibility that came with it.

"Then by the powers of StarClan, I grant you your warrior name. Pansypaw, from this day forwards, you will be known as Pansyface. StarClan honors your kindness and loyalty, and welcome you as a full warrior of SkyClan." Vixenheart finished with an approving smile, before leaping off of the Tallbranch. She padded up to the newly-named Pansyface, and rested her muzzle gently on her head.

The newly-named Pansyface licked the deputy's shoulder respectfully, and pulled away. Excitement and pride shining in her murky green eyes, the weight of the oath she had just taken seemed to little by little be taking effect. This was her clan, her home, her family. She would go to the ends of the earth to protect SkyClan, and was proud to be called a warrior. But how can you be loyal to your clan, when your heart lies beyond the borders? That little voice in her head rang true, and Pansyface knew it was right. I know what I have to do...

For now though, she would celebrate. Turning, she smiled at her friends and family with her head held high. I'm finally a warrior!
