| Deerpaw sat awkwardly at the entrance of camp, her only hind leg splayed out to her side to keep her balance. She wanted to go on a patrol, and she would whether or not she had no leg. The apprentice, not much more than a kit, stared out into camp. It was hard, for her; she was a Windclan cat, but would never be able to run. That thought never crossed her head as she waited, though—only fierce determination. | Willowwhisker padded over to deerpaw, wanting to stretch her legs on a patrol. "Going on a patrol, Deerpaw?" She noticed her hind leg sticking out at an awkward angle, and admired the apprentice for going on a patrol, even with a hind leg missing. "Lets go on a patrol, just you and me." | Deerpaw nodded silently, struggling hastily to her paws. Her tail was straight out evenly behind her for balance. The small calico had her blue eyes set on the moors, and managed to hop as quickly as she could towards them, without falling down. Finally, when she was a little ways from camp, the apprentice slowed, panting despite herself.
"What did you want to talk about?" | "Nothing much, I just wanted to get to know you. You are such a brave little cat. Going on a patrol, even if you are missing a leg, takes work. I am very proud of you, you have come a long way. Your healing gets better and faster every day, and I think you are unstoppable." Taking a breath, the warrior looked over to the apprentice, who was the same size as she. "If you can do what you do as an apprentice, then I know you will make for an amazing warrior. Despite a missing leg, you are the bravest apprentice I know, and trust me, I know a lot of apprentices."
