Patrol Time (Open)

Grasspaw waited near the camp entrance. He claws kneaded the ground impatiently. She had been wanting to get out of camp more and heard a patrol would be heading out soon. For prey or to check the borders, she wasn't sure, but either way she was ready. The thick coated apprentice was not put off too much by the cold weather and being out in it barely bothered her. Hopefully someone would show up soon so that she could go out racing through the forest and feel the wind ruffling her fur. Her mentor had been too busy to take her out much and while hunting with Blazepaw was fun, she hoped to get out with some warriors.

Emberheart flicked her ears forward in greeting, padding over to the apprentice. Her pale brown eyes were bright with the scent of morning in the air. A mist hung over the clearing, grazing the tops of grass and making her sigh with contentment.
For the most part, life was good. She'd finally gotten her warrior name, and there were quite a few apprentices becoming warriors so she wasn't alone. 
"Patrol?"
The russet she gave a grin towards Grasspaw.
"You look eager to get out. We can go with a party as small as this—I bet we'll catch a lot of prey anyway." She flicked her white-tipped ear, pausing once she was on the very edge of camp, to listen for the apprentice's answer.

"Yes! Let's go," Grasspaw meowed excitedly. She didn't know Emberheart all that well, but was grateful the slightly older cat was willing to take her out. Emberheart had recently become a warrior, which meant she was probably around Grasspaw's age. Due to the problems with both the deputy and leader, she had waited a few extra moons to be apprenticed. That fact didn't even bother the young apprentice though, she was just happy to be getting out of camp.
