Chilly, Windy Mornings [Open]

Mottlekit sat outside of the nursery, his short fur fluffed up against the cold winds that howled across the moor. The dip the WindClan camp laid in protect them from the worse of the winds but Mottlekit couldn't deny how cold it was. His thoughts lingered toward hopping into the nursery for warmth but he shook that idea from his head as he battled a small ball of moss he had brought out from the nursery with him. While the nursery was warm, it was also crowded and Mottlekit felt that enduring the cold air that ruffled his kitten fur was better then being in a cramped den with all of the queens and kits. And so he sat there, spending the time toying with a tiny ball of moss as he rolled it back and forth with mild amusement.

Mottlekit's ears perked as a voice caught his attention, looking up to see Greenkit strolling over to him. He sat up straight as she asked about the ball of moss, blinking as he turned his attention to it. "Oh! Its just kinda sticking together," he admitted as he hooked the ball on one of his claws and gently threw it over to Greenkit. "I think its tangled and matted together in a clump almost!"

OOC: This battle takes place before the battle by the way.

Mottlekit giggled at Greenkit's annoyance, wondering who had fed her that information but didn't decide to ask. He was a bit disappointed when she dodged the ball of moss and didn't even bother to throw it back. He got to his paws, strolling over to where the moss had landed and rolled it under his paw as he shrugged. "I mean, I suppose it isn't the funnest thing to do but its a way to pass the time," he said he sat down again, studying the ball of moss as he squished it under his paw. "At least until we are apprentices."

"Because we can't leave the camp," he muttered softly. It was annoying to be a kit, locked up in the camp. He wanted to see the wide-open plains that they called their own but instead he was trapped in the swallow dip that was their camp. When Greenkit asked if he knew any fun games, his ears flickered back as he stared at his paws. He hadn't really played with the other kits, with his mother dying as she gave birth to him and his father disowning him...He often liked being by himself instead of the other kits. "Uh...No, not really." He paused. "Well, I guess there is always play fighting."

"You wanna play mossball?" Duskstorm asked as he padded over to the kits. "It's a fun game." he had been listening to their conversation and wanted to see their reaction. "And if you be good maybe I can take you both out for a little out onto the territory." He chuckled quietly in their ears.

"Are you sure you don't want to go out?" Duskstorm asked unpleased of the unkind tone. Why oh why did most kits dislike him? Was it his fur colour? Was it what he had said? What had he done? he hadn't done anything wrong ever! "I sneaked out as a kit once." he repeated.

OOC: Yo, Poptart. This topic takes place before the Battle so if Dusk is going to be in this topic, he has to be an apprentice. Sorry, but it has to be this way as the personality Mottle has in this topic is pre-battle only and this topic was made before the battle. I stated so in my second post. I am going to act like Dusk is an apprentice in my posts no matter what.

IC: Mottlekit's ears perked when Greenkit seemed to like the idea of play fighting, happy that he seemed to be getting though to her. He opened his mouth when the apprentice strolled up and asked about the ball of moss and if they really wanted to play with it. He frowned when Duskpaw said it was fun, doubting. Was it really fun? Of course, he supposed if Greenkit would of thrown it back then it would have been a bit fun.

His whole body went ridged when Duskpaw offered to take them out onto the plains, his gaze snapping to the apprentice as he gave him his complete attention. Leaving the camp? It was an tantalizing idea but...Mottlekit was unsure if it was worth the chance of getting in trouble. He was rather close to becoming an apprentice. His ears flickered back when Greenkit rebuffed him, a small startled hiss coming from him. "Don't be rude!" he quickly said with a worried flicker of his tail. Then he paused as Duskpaw spoke up again. "Wait, you snuck out as a kit?" he repeated, his voice carrying traces of uncertainty as he focused on the apprentice again. "Did...You get caught?"

"Yeah I did." Duskpaw replied to Mottlekit but as to Greenkit he didn't want to do this but he ignored him. "Anyway if you don't want me around then i'll go on a patrol."

"No! Stay!" Mottlekit suddenly said, not wanting to make the apprentice feel bad. He wasn't happy with how Greenkit was treating Duskpaw but there was little he could do about it and frowned as the other kit strolled away after knocking his ball of moss away. His ears flickered back as he sighed heavily before turning his attention back to Duskpaw. "So...Um...What is it like outside the camp?" he found himself asking. Even if he didn't plan on leaving the camp, he was interested in what it was like.

"It's really fun! And i like it how you can run freely across the moor." Duskpaw decided to stay as he chatted with the friendly kit. "And my favourite part is the borders. I love watching the waterfall at the Gorge if you think of it the right way it's beautiful."
