Thistlepaw's Warrior Ceremony

"Let all cats old enough to catch their own prey gather beneath the willow branch for a Clan meeting!" hollered Fishstar.

Thistlepaw padded out of the apprentice's den and over to where Fishstar was.

"I, Fishstar, leader of RiverClan," the spotted tabby went on, "call upon my warrior ancestors to look down on this apprentice. She has trained hard to learn the ways of your noble code, and I commend her to you as a warrior in turn. Thistlepaw, do you promise to uphold the warrior code, and to protect and defend your Clan, even at the cost of your life?"

"I do." Thistlepaw said.

Fishstar thought for a moment to decide on a name and then went on. "Then by the powers of StarClan, I give you your warrior name. Thistlepaw, you shall now be known as Thistleblaze. RiverClan honours your strength and loyalty."

"Thistleblaze, Thistleblaze!" Ivyfall shouted from where she stood under the willow branch. Nothing but pride filled her at the sight of her kit becoming a full fledged warrior and praised throughout the clan. Once the ceremony was done, she came over to brush affectionately against her kit. "Well done, Thistleblaze. We should go on a hunt together, now that you're a warrior."
