A Silver Coyote in the Stars (DEATH TOPIC)

OOC: Hitting two birds with one stone in this one, chaps.

IC: Silverpaw padded through the long reeds, to the river. She flicked her tail for an excited brown kit to follow her. And so he did. Little Coyotekit was quite fond of Silverpaw, despite the fact that her attitude could sometimes get in the way of things. He floated, rather than walked, over to the bank of the river. He glanced over his shoulder at the silver, warrior-aged apprentice. "Are you excited, Coyotekit?" The she-cat asked, fur unkempt, and, paired with her shaky voice and wild eyes, made her seem a little loopy.

The small tom nodded, paws skirting the riverbank. He rocked himself back and forth on his tiny paws, gasping as he made one wrong move. The scrap of fur slid into the river suddenly, paws flailing as he attempted to keep his head above the water. "Help!" He gurgled, voice becoming drowned out by his failed attempts. Finally, he plunged in, becoming motionless as the current carried him away.

Seconds before the kit's death, Silverpaw dove in. She paddled helplessly to Coyotekit, who's eyes had closed due to hypothermia, and who's small and frail body disappeared. Silverpaw winced. How was she to get back? As she tried, her paws became weak and she felt warm. She felt comfortable. She shut her eyes, soothed, and fell into a deep sleep, from which she would never awaken from.
