| So, I wrote another poem! It's called The Creeping Fear, and I thought I may as well share it. The Creeping Fear
It's the spider,
Eight legs,
Crawling,
Climbing,
Up your skin.
Each leg prickling you,
Like the steel knife,
Cold and unforgiving,
Full of lies.
And you can't move,
Frozen still,
Plunged in the icy water
As it seeps inside you.
You are but a vessel,
No option but to succumb
To its creeping, chilling touch.
You are controlled by it,
Your palms sweaty,
Heavy.
You let it dictate choices
With its terrified mind,
Seeking validation,
Comfort it cannot find,
Knowing the end,
But never meeting it,
Knowing it's inevitability.
Hairs on your back raise,
One by one,
Standing on end,
Sharp as a thousand pinpricks.
And you are numb
With that cruel beast
