Swankit, Silentkit, Softkit, and Sheepkit's Apprentice Ceremony

Another one of her sons was to become an apprentice today! The leader had a slight skip in her step as she went to hop onto the rock. "[color:f2b7=ff9900]All cats old enough to catch their own prey gather under the Highrock for a clan meeting!"

Swankit streaked out of the nursery, her eyes glowing with excitement. She would finally be gaining her apprentice name!
Hm, Swanpaw has a nice ring to it. She thought with a smile.

Blackpaw glanced down at his paws, before his head raised at Darkstar's call. It would be Silentkit's ceremony today, he had guessed. Sheepkit's too? He tilted his ears and the thought, padding out into the sunlight. He squinted with annoyance as an elder might, sheathing his vision from the streaks of golden light. With his ears pinned back he walked up to the Highrock. With a swift yawn, his ears perked again. "Are you excited?" Blackpaw asked, tone coloured with amusement. His gaze turned to the fluffy white kit seated next to him.

Smiling, the large apprentice flicked his tail in the direction of Darkstar. "The ceremony's about to begin, as soon as the others arrive," Blackpaw mewed, ever observant, as his whiskers twitched. The coal-black apprentice was present at each and every ceremony, and his once vibrant blue gaze had been dulled with repetitive occasions.

Blackpaw lifted his sturdy head, smile unwavering. He listened for the soft pawsteps of the arrival of other cats, and Darkstar's usual procedure. The morning's light remained hot on his pelt, yet Blackpaw didn't seem to mind.

The small white kit padded out of the nursery, hissing as another kit raced out beside her. She shook her head with disapproval. The other kits needed to seriously tone it down...a lot.
She reached the front of the crowd, her white head chin lifted with pride as she sat down. She looked at Swankit, her blue gaze emotionless and dull. If that kit was as bouncy and unable to sit still as she seemed, then Swankit was bound to be unsuccessful. Sheepkit didn't care, as long as she herself was successful she didn't care about anybody else.

Pinepaw came out of the apprentices' den, his face cold. He didn't usually attend apprentice ceremonies, disapproving to much of the way of the clans and their belief in StarClan to really show up and watch kits be sentenced to the same fate as their parents, just because they said so. Pinepaw grimaced at the ever so exited kits until he spotted Sheepkt, his expression changing to mild interest.

Blackpaw caught notice of Pinepaw, purring mockingly to himself. Did the harsh, cold apprentice already have a crush? The black apprentice grumbled as the younger apprentice noticed Sheepkit, realizing the fluffy white kit may have the same sarcastic attitude as Pinepaw. Two in one! What a ride. Blackpaw's fur remained flat as his blue gaze set on the shining, glazed form of the Highrock, it's stony grey blending with Darkstar's dark, fluffy pelt.

Softkit padded after her sister, her pawsteps silent yet swift. She wanted to get this over with. She didn't enjoy being the center of attention, or crowds, she sat beside Swankit, trying to put on a comfortable smile.

Sheepkit glanced around to see who was gathering. Well, everyone was. Her blue gaze landed on Pinepaw, and she saw him staring back at him. Her blank gaze changed into a frown, she didn't enjoy being directly stared at.

Blackpaw seemed to be more patient than most of the cats around him, gradually becoming more mature. His tail-tip flickered as Softkit approached, smelling her kit-like, milky scent. His gaze remained on Darkstar, mewing under his breath. "Is everyone here?" He murmured, voice tainted with curiosity, although his azure orbs remained calm.

Silentkit padded over. The silver tabby took his place besides the other kits and looked up at his mother.

She looked to each of the kits in quick succession, ensuring that everyone was ready. "Swankit, Silentkit, Softkit, and Sheepkit. You have all reached thd age of six moons and it is time that you became apprenticed. From now on until you receive your warrior names, you shall be known as Swanpaw, Silentpaw, Softpaw, and Sheeppaw. Your mentors will be, in respective order, Dusk, Treestep, Sorrel, and Scorchfrost. I hope that they will pass down their many skills on to you." It might have appeared to be an odd choice to give Silentpaw, her youngest son, to a cat whose loyalty was uncertain, but it would make for a good way to judge Treestep's reliability. She just hoped she wouldn't have to deal with another Jayflight. Dusk and Sorrel were experiments as well. They had been warriors once before, but surely being in Twolegplace for so long had changed them.

Blackpaw heaved a long sigh... Mentally, of course. He, himself, was unsure of Treestep's loyalty as well. He believed it was questionable, yet he trusted in Darkstar's decision.

Silentpaw purred and gave a small smile. Though the tom was usually quiet he made sure to let at least some of his emotions show.
