Silverpaw's Warrior Ceremony

Crowflight stood in the meeting spot and then called out to his clan. "Let all cats old enough to catch their own prety gather here for a clan meeting!"

Silverpaw dragged herself out of the apprentice's den at the deputy's call and sat down in the camp. The she-cat longed desperately for her brother, Blackpaw, to be there, but he was dead. The past few days had been very rough for her, but she managed to make herself look presentable for the ceremony.

Pebblethorn padded out to watch her crush and good friend recieve her warrior ceremony. She knew that she was still sad about her brothers death, and wanted to help comfort her.

"The time has come for an apprentice to gain the rank of a warrior." He shifted his gaze to Silverpaw. "Silverpaw, please step forward."

Treepaw smiled watching the ceremony intensely knowing that she would soon be the one reciving her name.

Silverpaw shot a nervous smile to Pebblethorn before she stood up and took a step toward the deputy. It felt like an animal was inside her chest and clawing at her insides when she thought about how excited she had been to get her warrior name with Blackpaw. Now Blackpaw will never become a warrior. Now Silverpaw was brotherless.

"I, Crowflight, deputy of Skyclan, call upon my warrior ancestors to look down on this apprentice. She has trained hard to understand the ways of your noble code, and I commend her to you as a warrior in her turn. Silverpaw, do you promise to uphold the warrior code and to protect and defend your Clan, even at the cost of your life?" Crowflight asked.

Nettletail came out in time to see her apprentice, Silverpaw, becoming a warrior. She watched proudly as the time-honored words were spoken.

"I do," purred Silverpaw.

The deputy nodded. "Then by the powers of Starclan, I grant you your warrior name. Silverpaw, from now on you will be known as Silverstone, for your confidence and decision-making. We welcome you as a full warrior of Skyclan," Crowflight jumped off the branch to meet the new warrior.

"Silverstone! Silverstone! " cheered Nettletail. She was so proud of her apprentice. No, former apprentice. She was a warrior now.

The newly-made warrior beamed with pride at the chanting of her new name. And in that moment, she forgot about Blackpaw. A full smile appeared on her face. "Thank you, Crowflight," she purred happily to the deputy.
