Leader's Orders! (Dawn Patrol)

Mudfoot woke with the sun, giving a relaxed yawn and stretching his legs. The fluffy tom gave his fur a shake as he padded out of the warriors den and sat in the camp clearing, waiting for his patrol group. I hope I don't have to wake them up myself. He gave a soft purr. Thrushstar had given him the opportunity to prove himself and he wouldn't let his clan down. The mini gathering that took place the night before had been quite hectic, and he hoped nothing would go wrong on today's patrol.

The tom waited for a few minutes before giving a sigh. He knew he shouldn't have had that much faith in the apprentices for waking up on time. Waking up apprentices was easy but waking up warriors was another story. Best I not try to wake them up. Mudfoot would prefer to keep his ears in tact. He padded to the apprentice den and poked his head in, looking for Barkpaw, Amberpaw, and Littlepaw, who just so happened to all be his apprentices. One could say having three apprentices was a little much, but it was also really enjoyable. "Wake up, we have a patrol to do." He walked over to the sleeping bundles and meowed softly, prodding them with his paw.

Barkpaw grumbled,but got up anyways, and went outside to the clearing to wait for the others in his patrol.

Amberpaw stumbled up and shook his fur, "Okay Mudfoot, I'm ready." He slurred his words as the drowsiness wore off but when he remembered this was his leader's orders he snapped into action. Amberpaw wanted to make sure that Thrushstar thought he was a loyal clan cat and not a traitor in any way.

"?" Littlepaw sat up, looking around. "Oh, patrol? Okay, Mudfoot!"

Owlfang slipped from the warriors den, hearing a patrol call. She scanned the patrol, which consisted of Mudfoot and his many apprentices. "Need some help?" came her powerful voice booming across the clearing. She trudged confidently to the tom, acknowledging each apprentice with a nod.

Barkpaw never thought any cat could be as loud as Owlfang. It wasn't that she was loud, but her powerful voice gave the illusion of loudness." What are we partroling today??" he asked Mudfoot.

He gave a purr at Littlepaw's excitement. "I'm glad you guys are as eager to go on this patrol as I am." He meowed to Amberpaw and Littlepaw. Mudfoot turned his head to Owlfang giving a smile. "Thanks, although these three are pretty well behaved." He meowed, hoping it wasn't rude to kind of turn down help. Of course help was nice, but he didn't want cats thinking that he couldn't handle his apprentices. He had been assigned as there mentor and was going to fulfill his duties. He then turned his head to Barkpaw."Thrushstar wants us to patrol the territory and make sure there's nothing suspicious going on." Mudfoot tried to sound optimistic though somewhat doubted anything would actually be going on. "I think we are just waiting on Fennelcloud, then we can go."

She nodded. "Okay, sounds good."

Barkpaw nodded."Ok"

A dark gray tabby she cat with greenish-yellow eyes padded out of the warriors den. The she cat would soon have to move into the nursery, to protect the little kits inside her belly. Cinderstream would take it a little easy today, just to be safe.

Eaglepaw's ears twitched as she was asleep hearing the cats, quickly her head popped up from sleep as she stretched herself and groomed herself quickly. When she had finished she walked out of the apprentices den and padded over "May I join the patrol?" she asked

Amberpaw saw one of his friends eager to join the patrol but remembered why this patrol had started in the first place, "Sorry Eaglepaw but I think we can only have cats that are in our group join this patrol, remember what Thrushstar said? We don't want to break any of his wishes now but I guess you could see what Mudfoot says." He said hoping not to hurt her feelings.

She nodded "Ok, but should I still wait to see what Mudfoot says?" she asked walking over to him

"I think so, just in case we can squeeze you in." Amberpaw smiled softly.

She nodded sitting down and waiting for Mudfoot to say something "So anyway how's training?" she asked
