Pinepaw's Assessment

Mapledrop padded over to the fresh kill pile and grabbed a water vole and then went to the apprentices den. "Pinepaw? Wake up it's time for your assessment." The dark red she cat meowed flicking her fluffy white tipped tail. She baccked out of the apprentices den to let Pinepaw out and set the water vole in front of her.

Pinepaw had been awake for several hours already. The mixture of excitement and nervousness had prevented him from falling asleep once he woke up just after moonhigh. The young tom pretended to stretch and rise, but the tired look in his eyes was completely real. "What is the assessment?" he asked, yawning greatly before quickly grooming his fur.
