There would always be a shred of doubt in the medicine cat. Did he do enough? Could he have prolonged Falconstar's life a little bit longer? His father and mentor had died when he was but a newly appointed medicine cat apprentice, would Cloudpatches and Suntail saved Falconstar? Looking onto the mourning cats in the clearing, those thoughts were stronger than ever. But those poisonous thoughts would drag him into a dark place that he feared he'd never escape, instead, he nudged them aside as he approached Kestrelstorm and Sablefur. "Be not afraid. Tomorrow, we'll head to Moonstone for your lives. All leaders have doubt, but you will not be alone. Falconstar walks among us still."

Dipping his head in respect to Sablefur, he left the den to join the mourners outside. He wasn't the type to wail pitifully, but he'd keep the old leader company tonight, Falconstar had been a mentor to him when Suntail had died. And in a way, he was father to all in the clan, a wise and guiding force.

Eaglethorn couldn't believe it: his father was dead. The proud, wizened leader of WindClan walked among the stars now. Digging his claws into the ground, he let out a mourning yowl, scarring the ground beneath his claws. It was impossible: what was WindClan without its leader?

The warrior left the den, pacing the clearing until Falconstar's body was moved out of the den. He remained as calm as he possibly could allow himself, laying down and paying his respects to the old leader; his father.

Saltpelt hesitated lingered on the outskirts of the camp, standing awkwardly outside the warrior's den as she gazed upon Falconstar's limp body. She couldn't believe her eyes, the leader had been poorly, but to think he was dead. She'd thought her grandfather was invincible, peerless in strength and wisdom. It was almost frightening to see that even the eternal Falconstar was mortal in the end. Her each step pained her as she approached the body, almost wishing she could leave camp and pretend this wasn't real. But it was.

He was gone.

Sitting next to Eaglethorn, she joined him in paying her respects to her grandfather. She hoped he'd soar across the Starlight plains in peace, watching over them all.

Pinedusk sat next to his sister. He felt so terrible... He couldn't believe he was really dead. Heh... He'd thought him to be immortal! Well... Guess not, then. He was sorrowful and sad, having remembered happy times with him, watching him lead the clan through tough times. He sunk into his shoulders and let out a sniffle. Oh look. He was crying. He never cried, but oh well. This was sad. All his family was around, mourning for the dead leader. He was a great mate, father, and grandfather, and earned exceeding amounts of respect through his countless moons. Have a safe journey, Falconstar...
