Baby, it's cold outside [Open]

Ivyfall roused from her sleep as the camp came to life with the rising sun. The silver tabby was curled around her kits, tail tucked under her chin to ensure they were warm from all angles, though it wasn't that easy to do so as they were all growing up so fast. Elmkit, Frostkit, Hollykt, Jaykit, and Possumkit, they were all beautiful and growing up strong. She knew that Swiftclaw (NPC) would be proud of each of them. But today was no ordinary day, the weather was milder than it had been in a few moons, so she had plans to let them all out to explore camp fully. However that was for later, first, she'd remain in her soft, warm nest for each of her precious bundles to awaken.

They had an exciting day ahead of them, it was for the best that they got all the sleep they need.

Sleep? Sleep was for the weak. Elmkit was simply pretending to be asleep. Or well...He had just awoken up but that wasn't important. His eyes flickered open as he cuddled closer to his mother's soft, warm belly. It made him safe. Sure, sure, he wanted to be a mighty warrior that could take care of his self but he couldn't deny how...Nice it was to be with his siblings like this. He lifted his head, blinking up at his mother before a soft smile graced his face. "Good morning," he yawned, shifting slightly. Hopefully he wouldn't wake any one his siblings up but it would be great if they did...It was lonely when you were the only kit awake after all.

Jaykit uncurled her tail from her body, slowly awakening. The sleep that took over her body every night faded as light shown in replace of the colorful darkness behind her eyelids. The she-cat blinked awake, finally seeing her mother, brothers and sisters and the nest. The nursery soon appeared in her view, and the sky and awakening clan was visible out of the exit. The she-cat stepped out of the nest, yawning and stretching. "Morning, Ivyfall." She said to her mother.
She smiled and bopped her sister, Frostkit's, nose. "Wake up, sleepyhead!" She mewed to her, preparing to awaken the rest of her littermates besides Elmkit, who had awoken just before her, unnoticed. "Oh, hi, Elmkit!" She mewed to him, noticing his presence.

Frostkit groaned. Why? Why did they have to wake her up so early? Great Starclan.. She shifted in her spot tucking her nose further into the nest and hiding herself even more. As a result she ended up pushing herself further into her mothers side. Mmm.. little.. longer.." She said in a drowsy voice, not paying any mind to her brother who was already awake, and her sister that nudged her. She wanted to sleep more, and if that meant hiding under her mother she would do it.

Hollykit awoke from the sounds of her Littermates. She stretched and yawned "Good morning Mom!" She said excitedly. She got up into a sitting position and started licking her paw. I wonder if we're doing anything exciting today! she thought

Ivyfall purred fondly at her kits. As each of them awoke, she shifted to allow them room to stretch and not trample their sister, Frostkit, who seemed quite intent on catching a little more sleep before their day began. "Good morning, little ones." She spoke, giving them all a swift licking to help their bedraggled fur, taking a little extra time on Possumkit and Hollykit, the youngest in her litter. Only once she was happy with their state, she told them the good news. "Remember what I promised you last time? We'll be going out of the nursery today to see camp, now that the weather isn't looking so bad. But you have to be considerate of the apprentices and warriors, they're all still busy at work. Okay?" The last part she looked over intently at Jaykit, her little troublemaker. She reminded her of her brother, Rainstorm in some ways. Excitable and confident.

Jaykit caught her mother's gaze to her at the last part and giggled mischievously, but she would follow her mother's rules for the outside world. "I'm so excited to finally go outside!" She exclaimed to her littermates, practically dancing on her toes. The little kit's eyes glimmered with excitement and curiosity as a young kit's eyes should.

Somehow that had slipped Elmkit's mind, but in a second, any trace of his tiredness was gone as his eyes gleamed. He quickly hopped onto his paws, taking a moment to cuff Frostkit on the ear. "Come on, wake up! We're gonna go explore the camp!" he repeated, not sure if his sister had missed that part in her sleepy state. He soon pulled away and hoped out of the small group of his siblings and bounded toward the entrance of the nursery. He was all to excited and almost didn't want to wait for everybody but he also didn't want to be caught under any warrior's paws. So, there stood with a twitching tail, waiting for his litter-mates and mother to join him

Hollykit started hopping around with excitement "Yah!" She said

Frostkit only wanted to sleep more, she wanted to explore, but sleep was important. She wanted to be well rested for anything that came her way. So when her brother cuffed her on the ear, her white ears went flat against her head. She didn't like it. In fact her brother had no right to do that to her. A small growl escape the white tabby and she stood, giving her brother an ice cold glare from her blue eyes. And since his attention wasn't on her it was the perfect time to do this. She crept forward the tackled Elmkit. "Don't do that again!" She hissed. She didn't like it.

Ivyfall was quick to get onto her feet, placing herself between the squabbling kits and picking up little Frostkit in her jaws by the scruff. Since the she-cat was awake enough that she was ready to tackle her brother, the queen decided it was time to take them all outside before they woke up everyone in the nursery. She had a feeling some of the other queens wouldn't appreciate the wake up call. "Enough. Follow me, little ones." She meowed calmly, teeth still firmly gripping her kit as she exited the nursery.

The snow crunched underneath her paws as she walked out into the clearing, expecting her kits to trail behind. The camp was bustling with life as always, contrasting starkly with the lifeless background which was Leafbare. Gently, she placed Frostkit back onto the cold ground for her to stand by her siblings and admire the outside world. "What do you think of our camp?"

A part of her couldn't help think of her old camp. The stony hollow where she'd been raised. No snow would have fallen in there. Everyone was protected from the elements there, though in the end, something much worse lurked and killed her clanmates.

Hollykit padded out of the nursery behind her mother "Wow!" She said in aw. She skipped around her mom "This place is cool!" She said.

Jaykit's eyes widened at the view of the camp. Never had she set foot outside the nursery, and now she stood in the cold, white, glimmering powder, staring at the beautiful scenery. "Starclan..." She breathed, in astonishment, to the beauty. She nodded to her sister. "Yeah! Wow!" The she-cat then dived into the snow, squealing in excitement.

The little tom gave a squeak of indignation as Ivyfall groomed him. Honestly, he was almost an apprentice! He could take care of himself! But all that was forgotten when they were taken outside. Possumkit's eyes went wide with wonder. This was the world? It felt so big! "Where i-is everyone?" he asked, dabbing experimentally at the snow with a paw.
